G18 Upcoming Content

There's been tons of talk of new content. Steam doesn't yet have a discussion on it, so I figured I'd supply some facts and attract opinions for convenience.

We can look forward to a new Advanced fire spell; Meteor Strike, the ability to charge adv magic while moving, and Mastery skills for heavy armor, light armor, shields, and wands. Lastly, there's the new gunner class with Dual Guns and the engineering life skill.

With the armor mastery, there are supposed to be changes to how defense and protection are done as well as dex penalties for wearing heavy armor. Hopefully it doesn't help the bosses more than it helps us. At least the Heavy Armor mastery allows the use of accessories and lowers the penalty at higher ranks.

There's also been talk of how Alchemy will be reworked, but I haven't come across concrete facts. Alchemy would no longer need special crystals. To use, say, Life Drain, you'd only need some number of the base 4 crystals.

Dual Guns seem to be a sure thing, so much so that anyone reading this has probably head of them or even checked the wiki. I don't think they'll replace bows, at least not anymore than fighter skills replaced swords and lances. Faster but weaker.

Will dual guns be released when g18 comes out? Wiki says it will be here g18 episode 6 not sure if those are replacments for seasons.

I imagine that "episodes" will be released faster, like every 2-3 months. But it could also just be a new name for the same thing.

The Wiki has been very wrong lately.


And a few things.

1. Put a spoiler tag in the title (Just for everybody's sakes)

2. When Korea did the "Drama Storyline/Update" (it's actually not called "Generation 18, they dropped those term officially since the "Classics" [G17S1] update), they released an episode each week. I do not know when or how often these episodes will be released in NA however.

3. North America also does not follow KR's content releasing schedule. We may not even get Guns, we could be getting them before the Drama Update. Nobody really knows except for Nexon themselves.

4. Some of the (un?)official terms for the future updates are. What was included when they were released in KR are put under spoiler tags:

*Drama Update - Basically the Drama Storyline, Dragon Army Battle, Iria renewal, new production skills, and new mining areas.
*Gunner Update - Includes the Gunner Talent, skills, and other things related to the said talent
*Rebalance Update - Magic and Alchemy are rebalanced, Vales and Filia get a new makeover. New masteries (Shield, Light and Heavy Armor) are also introduced.
*Hero Update - Could also of gone along with the Rebalace update. Druid (Hero?) Talent is released, as well as new Magic Skills (including the Advanced Fire Magic - Meteor Storm)
*Diva Update - Diva (Hero?) Talent is released, new music skills (we can sing), as well as new instruments (Pianos, Violins, Cellos, Microphones) are released.

This does not include cash shop pets like that infamous Scooter pet.

They could always bundle all/most of the content and release it in one update. I believe they did that once for NA.

I don't think we'll be getting a whole continent in that update, so there probably won't be as many bugs. Then again, Tara wasn't bundled with anything and it's still pretty bad. Its always a toss up.

KR already has guns. There will be guns for NA. No release date yet, but when I know, you'll know. I don't see any reason why they would cut major content like this. Some skills I can understand being reworked, like shadow bunshin took a while to be released as doppleganger, but this is an entire class.
