Played this game starting in 2008, never tried the steam version, I quit playing a few years ago, but from what I've heard it's still all the same.
In the beginning this game was very good. It was like a stripped version of COD. A minimalist, no-nonsese, first person shooter, that was very reminiscent of Counter Strike. But that was in the beginning, since then it has gone all the way down hill, rolled off the docks, landed on a trash barge, and drifted out to see, where there is no hope it will ever be recovered.
This game is now only playable if you
A) Have no problems with hacking.
B) Have lots of money.
If you can't do A or don't have B... DO NOT EVEN BOTHER WITH THIS TITLE.
It's unlikely you will go an hour without seeing some of the worst hacking you've ever seen in a FPS.
And if you do somehow miraculously manage to make it that far without seeing a genuine hacker, you will have undoubtedly falsely accused several other completely innocent players who have just spent a ridiculous amount of money on a broken free to play.
But that's why they spend the money, cause it's broken, and unfairly favors those with the green backs.
To put it simply, this game practically gives you the same abilities the hackers exercise, so long as you pay for it.
If you're just the regular average joe who doesn't have 50 dollars or more to drop on this thing... monthly.
(that's right I said monthly, because most of the pay gear is not permanent)
Then you may as well just give it up.
Trust me it's not worth the frustration.
This game could make a zen buddhist monk rage himself into a brain aneurysm.
