Game itself sucks, No.
You can be better than people who pay and play if you jsut give the time. Bear in mind enhance runes only go to +10 and that isnt a big difference. Second paying does not effect enchant rates and even if you have an enchant protect, failing a rank A or 9 enchant (which are the only enchants worth using) is aggrivating as you will need to farm all over agian for it. Also paying doesnty make you more money in the game unless you are a very desperate poor child who only sells dye ampuoles and cant sell the vast majority of the items in the game.
AS FOR NEXON CUSTOMER SERVICE HOWEVER:
1. Sucks ass
2.SUCks ♥♥♥♥
3.they dont listen
4. did i say sucks ♥♥♥♥ and ass yet?
5. dont bother with it,
IN CONCLUSION
If you have no problems and will spend the time to get good gear (which btw is equally as hard for players who pay...okay barely noticeably easier for players who pay) then great game. Only reason people have issues is the broke ass patches and the fact nexon sucks customer service ♥♥♥♥.
I managed to buy currency with Steam in the end so that worked out. But it does not excuse the fact that without steam many wont even be able to use the cash shop. Without being able to sell those items the game suffers and the devs don't make money. I'm not worried about spending cash to keep the game alive but i expect some of it to be used to make improvements for things like support. Not to mention buying gold for this game is dirt cheap because of the ability to sell cash shop skins in game. So bascially pay to win is what it's all about and many players actually do buy their way right up to end game.
Trying to do season 2 in the level 70-80 bracket with just a +8 level 60 weapon will get you kicked from boats.
Are you really that slow?
I spent money and WAS TRYING TO SPEND MONEY to support the game. Yet the company is so disorganized they are probably losing millions which creates a snowball effect which in turn impacts everyone who plays the game. It's not a good marketing stratagy to punish your most loyal and only true customers. It's stupidity to not give priority to tickets relating to Pay to Play issues in fact.
It's not like they were to busy providing support for issues that were far more important then making money. So at the very least they could try not biting the hand that feeds them. Yet instead they lost a customer (likely many) who would have probably spent in excess of $50/month. I bet they lost heaps of customers like myself in recient times. But they do to my understanding have a few very wealty donors who will ensure the CEO gets paid regardless if the game falls off a cliff or not.
If not for being able to load from the Steam wallet i'd bet both my testicles that the North American side of Nexon would be bankrupt.
hell even a huge part of the korean server players quit because of this. for example raidhunter was going to quit because of all the BS he had to deal with, but only stayed because his fans begged him to keep playing.
I blame the new director of vindictus Han jae ho for all the bad calls.
But instead because it's a Korean game it's "pay gold famers to win" and "grind to win". Nexon does absolutely nothing to stop gold sellers and the game's item drop rate remains incredibly low.
The game sucks because of laziness. They can't think of any way to give the game more replay value other than making desirable items harder to get.
I think i'll stick around till my free Butterfly set expires just to horde more gold and get my monies worth. :)
Fact is the parent company just sent over a life raft to help keep the the US side afloat a little longer and to prevent lawsuits as real money (NX) is involved here. If the new CEO had clue of how to turn things around the first thing he would have done was upgrade the servers before Christmas. Second thing would have been to hand out gift boxes ONE per customer as a Thanks for putting up with all the BS. Then increased the rate for paid boxes to give cake as this would have been a real incentive for people to buy them.
Instead as per usual we get a chance at the same random junk that should not be in those boxes to begin with. I had one box that did not even give a chance for cake or anything even remotly festive as it only contained health and boost potions. I did manage to get a Santa bearded hat which sadly cannot be unbound even by spending the NX. So now they want us to gamble on a chance for festive outfit pieces and not even be able to sell or trade for the bits we need or want.
Nexon can seriously suck it!
Royalty payments and consulting fees from Chinese licensees comprised about 47% of Nexon's total revenues. Nexon also pulls a neat little accounting trick where they move all the royalty payments, but not the consulting fees, from their Chinese operations to Nexon Korea. This inflates Nexon Korea's revenues, and I've wondered whether Nexon Korea would actually show a profit without this accounting move.
Nexon America's continued inability to turn a profit also seems to be a weakness for many analysts. In every earnings conference call, there are at least a couple of questions about Nexon America's continuing losses. Nexon continues to blame this on a DDOS hacking attack on Maplestory in December of 2011. When Nexon used that excuse for Q4 2011, it was relevant. When Nexon used that excuse for Q1 2012, it was semi-relevant. When Nexon used that excuse for Q2 2012, it began to lack credibility
