Why this game really sucks.. GREED
Total greed on part of Nexon when it comes to cash shop bullish and support is next to non existant. Unless you can befriend a forum troll with friends on the inside don't even think about getting any real help. If a transaction goes south it will take months while your funds are in lingo if you are lucky to even get a reply.

I had problems giving them my money and they still ignored me for 6 months. Take it to the forums and you will be trolled and or ignored as with any other means. Managed to eventually sort it myself and pissed over $100 on this game just for s**ts and giggles. I don't care about paying money to support development but even after spending money it still gets me nothing in terms of real support.

This is why Nexon as a company is flat broke and in debt up to their eyeballs. There is no money for support staff so they have like less then a handful of people who more often then not simply ignore support requests in masses. I think even the support actually gets worse once you do spend money but no way to prove that. I spent the money and got nothing so that i can tell you money does not make you a valued customer.

Finally the people who represent and work for Nexon themselves are trolls. They troll customers on the forums and of course serious complaints are swept under the rug. I expect that from a company like Blizzard where profits are all that matter. But one would think a company that is struggling to be profitable would try to raise the bar a little and show more respect for those who allow them to actually pay their employees.

Just want others to know before comitting yourself to actually cauging up money to play this game at it's full potential buyer BEWARE.

vindictus you dont need real money to play game. but if you want some fashion item yea you have to pay some money to get it. all the weapon and armor look way better then the cash shop items

Nexon is greedy, yes.
Game itself sucks, No.
You can be better than people who pay and play if you jsut give the time. Bear in mind enhance runes only go to +10 and that isnt a big difference. Second paying does not effect enchant rates and even if you have an enchant protect, failing a rank A or 9 enchant (which are the only enchants worth using) is aggrivating as you will need to farm all over agian for it. Also paying doesnty make you more money in the game unless you are a very desperate poor child who only sells dye ampuoles and cant sell the vast majority of the items in the game.

AS FOR NEXON CUSTOMER SERVICE HOWEVER:
1. Sucks ass
2.SUCks ♥♥♥♥
3.they dont listen
4. did i say sucks ♥♥♥♥ and ass yet?
5. dont bother with it,

IN CONCLUSION
If you have no problems and will spend the time to get good gear (which btw is equally as hard for players who pay...okay barely noticeably easier for players who pay) then great game. Only reason people have issues is the broke ass patches and the fact nexon sucks customer service ♥♥♥♥.

I have good gear for my level all +5 and +8 wep (anything more is waste of money) so please don't tell me how good the game is. I was making money hand over fist buying/selling things like ice crystals in masses. But that wont buy me grace from cash shop needed for large dungeons like spider, bear and dragons. You can't tell me that raids can clear the hard bosses without someone in the group spending real money. Maybe just maybe a super well geard raid could do it but nobody at the level and with the gear those places were intended for.

I managed to buy currency with Steam in the end so that worked out. But it does not excuse the fact that without steam many wont even be able to use the cash shop. Without being able to sell those items the game suffers and the devs don't make money. I'm not worried about spending cash to keep the game alive but i expect some of it to be used to make improvements for things like support. Not to mention buying gold for this game is dirt cheap because of the ability to sell cash shop skins in game. So bascially pay to win is what it's all about and many players actually do buy their way right up to end game.

The game is free, so you don't really have a right to complain. I mean, if you don't like the game, just play something else. Besides, the makers have to make money some way. It isn't greed, it's marketing. If someone is willing to pay money for certain items, good for them. But playing the game without the payment doesn't take away from the fact that it's a really good game.

You don't NEED money and fancy items to play this game.
Question Dec 21, 2012 @ 4:49am
End game contents require very rare weapons from surprise boxes and runes for +10 weapons. Or you can try farming for months to get the absurdly rare mats, and then blow them up trying to get to +10.

Trying to do season 2 in the level 70-80 bracket with just a +8 level 60 weapon will get you kicked from boats.

Are you really that slow?

I spent money and WAS TRYING TO SPEND MONEY to support the game. Yet the company is so disorganized they are probably losing millions which creates a snowball effect which in turn impacts everyone who plays the game. It's not a good marketing stratagy to punish your most loyal and only true customers. It's stupidity to not give priority to tickets relating to Pay to Play issues in fact.

It's not like they were to busy providing support for issues that were far more important then making money. So at the very least they could try not biting the hand that feeds them. Yet instead they lost a customer (likely many) who would have probably spent in excess of $50/month. I bet they lost heaps of customers like myself in recient times. But they do to my understanding have a few very wealty donors who will ensure the CEO gets paid regardless if the game falls off a cliff or not.

If not for being able to load from the Steam wallet i'd bet both my testicles that the North American side of Nexon would be bankrupt.

Many players quit the game because vindictus slowly requred players to buy NX to enhance your items and get all your get to +10 or farm for months just to get rare drops, and this slowly made vindictus a play2win system. At high lvl raids you will going to get kicked from raids because you do not meet the atk/def quota.

hell even a huge part of the korean server players quit because of this. for example raidhunter was going to quit because of all the BS he had to deal with, but only stayed because his fans begged him to keep playing.

I blame the new director of vindictus Han jae ho for all the bad calls.

So many Korea F2P's have all gone in the same direction because the suckers (myself included) just keep funding the greed. I own way to many Korean games and even single one has cost me more cash then any non Korean subscription based MMO, shooter or otherwise.
I will give Nexon credit for not making the game pay-to-win themselves. You can't buy anything from Nexon that will give you very steep edge over anyone else or the game itself.

But instead because it's a Korean game it's "pay gold famers to win" and "grind to win". Nexon does absolutely nothing to stop gold sellers and the game's item drop rate remains incredibly low.

The game sucks because of laziness. They can't think of any way to give the game more replay value other than making desirable items harder to get.

Actually you can buy things like outfits with NX and trade them for gold to buy gear.

Decided to play again just to see how things are right now. I bought $10 of Christmas boxes and got like 10 mil worth of fluff. My new Vella got 10 blessed magic elixir on the first try so pay to play is still working at it's finest. By the looks of it all this holiday stuff has inflated prices and crushed what little economy was left. Anyone who is actually farming and not just milking the Auction House at this point is a moron. I could make 10 mil+ per hour in my sleep just from buying up all the Ice Crystals available. Almost snagged a pair of wings in fact for 1 coin that some risk taker was obviously swapping to an alt at the time.

I think i'll stick around till my free Butterfly set expires just to horde more gold and get my monies worth. :)

its little sad they make you pay some fo the little things like the storage chest. there is not a nuff room to keep some of your mats to just to make stuff...i do not mine buying stuff for looks but damn dont have players pay for thing like rez they cost a lot and more

Vindictus itself doesn't suck. Nexon, however, does. As for Nexon being 'flat broke', I suppose you didn't read the article saying that they have the funds to buy out EA? EA just didn't go through with it (thank God). I would hate a Pay2win Battlefield. Nonetheless, the outcome is that Vindictus is a great game that is held down by a money hungry company.
Crunktanium Jan 8, 2013 @ 12:37am
No where does it say Nexon has/had the money to buy EA. In fact on the contrary anylists said they would have had to borrow because revenue is not the same as earnings. But this is the US side of Nexon being discussed which happens to be bleeding pretty bad. If this was not the case the servers would not be in shables and it would not take six months to answer support tickets.

Fact is the parent company just sent over a life raft to help keep the the US side afloat a little longer and to prevent lawsuits as real money (NX) is involved here. If the new CEO had clue of how to turn things around the first thing he would have done was upgrade the servers before Christmas. Second thing would have been to hand out gift boxes ONE per customer as a Thanks for putting up with all the BS. Then increased the rate for paid boxes to give cake as this would have been a real incentive for people to buy them.

Instead as per usual we get a chance at the same random junk that should not be in those boxes to begin with. I had one box that did not even give a chance for cake or anything even remotly festive as it only contained health and boost potions. I did manage to get a Santa bearded hat which sadly cannot be unbound even by spending the NX. So now they want us to gamble on a chance for festive outfit pieces and not even be able to sell or trade for the bits we need or want.

Nexon can seriously suck it!

Royalty payments and consulting fees from Chinese licensees comprised about 47% of Nexon's total revenues. Nexon also pulls a neat little accounting trick where they move all the royalty payments, but not the consulting fees, from their Chinese operations to Nexon Korea. This inflates Nexon Korea's revenues, and I've wondered whether Nexon Korea would actually show a profit without this accounting move.

Nexon America's continued inability to turn a profit also seems to be a weakness for many analysts. In every earnings conference call, there are at least a couple of questions about Nexon America's continuing losses. Nexon continues to blame this on a DDOS hacking attack on Maplestory in December of 2011. When Nexon used that excuse for Q4 2011, it was relevant. When Nexon used that excuse for Q1 2012, it was semi-relevant. When Nexon used that excuse for Q2 2012, it began to lack credibility
