So much for that download.
Will be down-rating this. First off, this is not an MMO as the description on the page suggests. This is a lobby-based game. Think AVA, or something along those lines. The developer fails in keeping their STEAM version up to date. From what I can tell, STEAM is currently behind 1 version, but being a "beta" (which this is really not, it's more of a publicity stunt), and there is no way to update this, nor does the developer acknowledge it on their forums. It's impossible to even connect. After creating an account, and setting up my password and such, 9/10 I get Connection Timed Out, and that 1/10th chance, it puts me in a queue until it gives me - guess what - Connection Timed Out. I assume it relates to the version difference, but again, this is a developer issue. There's no way to cancel the connecting message - i.e. if you sit connecting for more then 10 seconds, it's not going to place you in a queue or anything - it's going to give you a connection timed out, and it's going to take 1-2 minutes for it to time out. I did take a moment to watch TotalHalibut's "WTF Is... : Star Conflict ?" on YT. The graphics looked pleasing while in lobby, until you're in an actual battle, and it seems to dim down everything except your own ship. Anyway, uninstalling.

Works fine for me too - and there are lots of players in game so it seems to be you. Possibly a corrupt gamefile or a crappy internet connection.

The game is at the latest version on steam - it was updated today both on and off steam. I'm on Mac which with some games means being a version behind PC, but even Mac is kept up to date with this game, so I'm not quite sure what you're talking about. Also - connecting to a game from the lobby takes anywhere from a couple of seconds to a minute or so - I've never had a timeout. Be patient.

I had the same problem, but I just restarted Steam and it downloaded the update. Before that it wouldn't let me connect either, but appears to be running fine now.
