Game Crashing (OS X)

I'm currenly experiancing problems launching the game, when I attempt to launch the game the steam message box aapears and says "preparing to lunch star conflict" and the the icon briefly appears in the dock and then disappears. As for specifications I'm using a MacBook Pro mid-2012 model running Mac OS X version 10.8.2.
