I play it, but i recommend you to get better The Blackwell Legacy. (is from the same creators of Resonance)

I play Resonance, for a couple days.

I play Blackwell Legacy for a entire WEEK. I love it.

Resonance was way too heavy. Sometimes it has humor, then horror, then thriller.

Overall, is not a bad game for 2 dollars. But The Blackwell Leacy, is SUPERIOR.
There's a lot of great games on Steam that are similar to Monkey Island. You could get the Broken Sword Trilogy, Blackwell Legacy, Gemini Rue and A New Beginning. I'm hoping that they'll release Full Throttle, The Dig and some of the older LucasArts great adventure games of the 90's.
I agree with Jack...with the lucasart adventures with maybe updated graphics...an waiting for Leisure Suit Larry which Is coming to steam with updated graphics.....must buy for any adventure collection..hoping they do the whole set..
Wow thanks guys! I am going to (eventually) check these all out!
Get Neverhood. It's not on steam but trust me you will thank me.

I would love to see Full Throttle on steam. That was a great game. They do have The Dig on here, though, along with Loom and a couple Indiana Jones games.
I'd say that Resonance has a lot more of "The Dig" than Monkey Island
I liked Gemini Rue better than Resonance. I feel that Gemini Rue is more polished, and has less of wtf puzzles that I did not like of Resonance, specially towards the end of the game. The initial puzzles in Ray access to the mainframe were interesting enough. However, I cannot say the same for the last puzzle Anna solves. One thing that make me not like the characters from my heart is that fact that Resonance makes you play with the four of them at the same time, but without much interaction between them. Anyhow, the game is not bad at all.
The tone of both games I mentioned is drama in a sci-fi environment. Resonance is based in a near future sci-fi, where most of the things are familiar to you. Gemini Rue is based in an era with space ships and the like. If you look for funny adventure games like Monkey Island, I'd say you try the Deponia games - I believe there is a demo for each. First game is good, as in Resonance good, but the second one is great. I hope it progresses well into the third yet to be published game.
I liked Resonance a lot. The need to have the characters work together to solve things reminded me a great deal of Day of the Tentacle.
It depends on which Monkey Island, if you mean the first two then yes. If you have the patience for the first monkey islands (playing older games or games in that style can be difficult without nostalgia) then Resonance is worth a look.

I would also recommend the Blackwell games (there are 4) and at least the first Still Life game (probably Still Life II as well but the first is better). Also the Longest Journey series, the first game is a great standalone, id suggest waiting for the third game that got kickstarted last month before getting the second one though ("The Longest Journey" is 1 "Dreamfall:The Longest Journey" is 2).

The Dig is already on steam, here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/6040/
If your talking about other older Lucas Arts games they have Loom and the Indiana Jones games.
I do not get the Monkey Island comparation. This are realistic adventure games that breath in logic and mental puzzles. Monkey Island and the alikes were all about the fun of it and the nonesense of the puzzles. While obviously both are the same genre and are played similar, their forms are completely different. If you´re looking for something LIKE Monkey Island in all it´s ways (meaning also the humor going wild and the crazy puzzle solving) you should look for TellTale´s Sam and Max three seasons. Graphic wise nothing similar to Monkey Island, but in any other way, it´s a perfect match. Also, the three seasons combine are far superior than TellTale´s Tales of Monkey Island, which is kind of meeeeeh...

And since it´s mentioned I will say that one fo my great complains about Steam right now is that there are so many few old times adventure games. We don´t have even the famous ones like most of Lucas Arts (only The Dig, which was not that much famous, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis and another one I can´t put my finger on rigth now) and insted we just have a few of them, missing a lot of Sierra´s adventures as well. And also, for games that none of the original creators will get money on sales and with the rights kind of losted in space (or in Disney maindungeons at this moment), almost 5 euros for those games is STEALT IN ARMED HAND.

EDIT: Also, Deponia or The Book of Unwritten Tales. Those two series, both with 2 games so far, are pretty close to Monkey Island ways of desing an adventure game point and click. Very good adventure games, originals and enjoyable.

I enjoy both games, so I'd say yes; they're very different though. I'd compare Resonance more to the Broken Sword games (also on Steam)
I'd just like to +1 people's recommendations for Deponia and The Book of Unwritten Tales if you're looking for Monkey Island style humour. My favourite modern adventure games however, are The Walking Dead, Machinarium and The Cat Lady.
Also a +1 for Deponia, Chaos on deponia, Gemini Rue, Book of Unwritten Tales and Runaway 3
All the Wadjet Eye games are brilliant, but Primordia has now become my favourite. The upcoming Blackwell game looks excellent too.
