No idea why they removed the ability to use wood, if it burns coal it can just as easily burn wood, I rather they massively lowered the ammount of fuel wood gave than remove it altogether.

Major pain having to use coal both for torches AND fuel.

It makes the later fuels useful. I couldn't care less about finding uranium, plutonium or solarium before the patch because I had thousands and thousands of wood to burn.

Sure, but coal is a terrible source of fuel for early levels, combined with the fact that you need a lot of iron ore, so you need a boatload of torches, coal becomes too much of a commodity, like I said, I'd rather they greatly nerfed wood, like an enteri stack for 100 fuel, than getting rid of it completly.

The reasoning for removing wood is sound, I get it, but stiill.

There isn't really a reason to jump around between planets early on though. You really only need to spend time on one planet per tier as you progress, it's only when you are ready to start finding specific dungeons, techs, gun merchants, and rare blueprints that you need to burn much fuel jumping around.

joined in to say exactly this. IT WAS IN THE PATCH NOTES PEOPLE. There's so much coal on my first planet that I've already filled up my gas tank and have over 150 coal to hold on to for torches.

Where do you even find those?

Prepatch uranium could be found on T3 planets, and plutonium and solarium were in Sector X. Plutonium was super common on asteroids.
