Male playability?
This may sound very stupid, But I was wondering if it was possible to play as a male in this?

No, though you can have romantic relationships with either gender, your character is female. The creator, last I heard, was planning on making a male version as a seperate game that may or may not be released at some point.

Alrighty, If he DOES Release it. Drop me a message ^^.

Man, just how girly a game do I have to write before people who don't know me realise I'm probably female? :)

The male version of the game has been repeatedly delayed due to difficulties with artist availability. At this point in time it seems most likely that any eventual Wolf Hall followup will be both a long time coming and look very different, because we may have to throw out all the art and start over.

Alright. Sorry for calling you a guy. I use to for generalization more than I should ^^.

No worries. :)

I don't understand the need for a male character when 90% of all games on the market require you to be a male character.

On a side note, I really enjoyed this game, it is very female orientated which I feel is refreshing.

[PS. No matter what you do in the game industry, 99% of the time people will still assume you are male. It got old fast for me, I have a really girly name aswell! Haha.]

I do wish games had a Male/Female option, I think it's just because game developers think that Males play more Video games than Females, thus, eliminating the need to add a female character element. I don't know why, I just can't play a game requiring me to be only female, If I could chose to be both, then that'd be a much appreciated equal.

All I'm saying is that the majority of the time, female players are forced to play as male characters. One of the few times you are forced to play as a female and people complain? In any case, I'd rather have a good game that I can play with a well thought out protagonist than one that is in there for the sake of gender. It shouldn't actually matter. If it did, every game/film/piece of entertainment would have to have a variety of gender options, all the time. Magical Diary has a cast that is pretty much 50/50 in terms of male/female ratio. It's one of very few games that does have a representation of genders, sexualities and races. and doesn't make a big deal of it. So I find it odd that someone would complain, that's all. :)

You are entitled to your opinion, but I'd still urge the developer to take into account that it's aimed at a female audience, which is rarely done well, and you don't want to go too far the other way and alienate your existing fanbase. I'm sure that won't happen of course, but there are plenty of games aimed at a male audience already and I wouldn't want the balance to be titled, yet again, in the other direction. I'm sure whatever the developer decides to do with the potential sequel or expansion will be done with female gamers in mind :) (Thanks, and sorry for what seems like an uneccessary rant!)

I understand where you're at, and I agree, I don't necessarily jump at playing as a female character either, as Females are usually forced to play as males. The game in it self is still a work of fine art!

.. And fun.

Yeah, totally :) Cheers~

Huh. Most of the games I play offer both genders to choose from. But in my opinion, it doesn't matter because when I read a book or play a game, I take on the perspective of the character. Or, rather, I role-play that I'm whoever the story tells me I am. I love Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale. I never once thought "I wish I could play as a guy". When I play Elder Scrolls games, Mount & Blade, The Sims, Fallout games... etc etc, I tend to alternate between genders on different play-throughs. My gaming buddies all happen to be guys and a couple of them always insist on playing females EVERY. TIME. haha... just a little bit of my perspective in case anyone cares. I don't think I'm THAT odd of a case because most of my friends play like I do.

My friends do the same thing.. My friend Alex actually almost ALWAYS plays as a female. ^^!

what do you mean when games are aimed at males ? is it the games with killing something in it ? any gender can play those . are you talking about a specific genre or in general ? in this game i didnt mind playing a female character i just didnt want to date guys or interact with them as a girl :S

Was that a question to me o.o?
