Unable to run Lego Harry Potter in Windows 8
This game cannot be executed in Windows 8. My other Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 can be played without any problems.

Can someone provide me with a solution or workaround?

That's funny. I am running Windows 8 Pro with Media Center, and its working perfectly. Could you guys specifiy which hardware you are running and any error messages you have gotten? Did you do a clean install of Windows 8 or an upgrade install?

If you did an upgrade install and had Steam installed along with some games, you may run into some stability issues with some apps running.

Also when installing the application, did you allow Steam to install Direct X and whatever else it had to install, its a must before any game on Steam launches.

I'd love to help you both get it running but I'm going to need some more information.

I'm having a similar problem with Windows 7. It keeps crashing during the very first flying lesson, and so I can't continue with the game.
I've already tried altering my sound settings, which seemed to work for other people, but not for me.

Solved the problem with solutions from Mr Kir's thread for the same problem on Windows 7.

It is the sound card settings. I set it to CD quality and it worked. It was in Studio quality.

This is a case of an old game not being able to catch up with technology!

Enjoy!
