TBP + Generic Pad?
Anyone found a way to play this game with a non x360 pad ?

I suppose the game was coded to use XInput only, so it won't work with DirectInput pads...
You can try using a XInput wrapper (google it).

Xpadder or motioninjoy and a ps3 controller.

joyToKey works perfectly for me

In my opinion the best solution: http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/

The plus side is that you configure this ONCE and then just copy and paste 2 files into any game that has this ridiculous and awful scheme of only "supporting" Xbox 360 gamepads. It will make the game thing you have a Xbox 360 gamepad plugged, so no extra hassles and if you make different files for different games you can remap the buttons, option that most games with this setup don't allow.

Weird, I've already tried x360ce and I still can't get it to recognise my pad (though all the other games do it w/o problems). That's the reason I started looking on the forums (and found this topic). Anyone else have problems with TBP and x360ce?

Did you copy 360ce into the games main folder (the one with they bleed pixels PC.exe)? Because it works just fine for me.

That I did, same as with any other game. Checked ini and config, all are good. Which xinput are you using?
Miltrivd Oct 30, 2012 @ 2:03pm
xinput1_3.dll and the .ini file. Are you getting the *beep* sound when the game is starting like in the other games, or not even that?
Gyumaou Oct 30, 2012 @ 5:19pm
same xinput then... haven't really paid attention to the beep here, will check it tomorrow -- off to sleep now.

EDIT: nah, nay beeps. Tried deleting local content and re-downloading. re-downloaded x360ce and re-done config. still no joy :/ guess it's keyboard for me

I've figured it out. If you are having the problem of getting x360ce able to work on other games but not on specific games (I had this same problem), try doing this:

1. Set up x360ce on that other working game first.
2. Sort out your keys as you need to.
3. Save it, if you want, check everything is working on the other game. If it does,
4. Copy all the 3 files x360ce.exe, x360ce.ini and xinput1_3.dll (might be different depending on when you are reading this post) and paste it in the game which was not working earlier.
5. Run x360ce.exe with the copied .ini files. Walah! The image of the controller is coloured and the square is green.

Hope this helps people out there as I was struggling with this too.

Cheers!

I agree. xbox360ce works great for me with most games

Thanks a lot. xbox360ce has made this game much easier, now that I don't have to use the keyboard.
