Could you provide details - how far do you get? Does it crash in the same place? Do you actaully get to play?
pepega 24 dec. 2012 la 17:20
yeah for 5minutes.

I'm guessing you've tried rebooting.
What happens if you start the game but don't play it - just leave it on the menu screen for 5 min - does it crash?
pepega 24 dec. 2012 la 17:45
It says the game wont run

Do you get an error message?
Something like "This card doesn't support the HiDef profile .."?
I need you to describe what happens in detail please.
Also what are your machine specs?

i know what error hes getting i think, I just bought the game, and it finished installing and everything, but on the first time set up it goes to 3 and it says im ingame, but then this console looking thing appears for about half a second and then dissapears and the game crashes, no message, no lag, no anything. also occasionally it will get stuck on Installing .NET 4.0 Runtime (step 1 of 3), help? D:

@Hawks - could you try running the three setup files manually?
They should be located here:
"C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\they bleed pixels"
and are:
dxwebsetup.exe
dotNetFx40_Client_setup.exe
xnafx40_redist.msi
After the installs are done reboot the machine and please try running TBP again.
Let me know what happens.

Having the same problem. Played just fine yesterday. Trying to launch it today, flashes for a second then crashes.
Aaaand now it's magically working again. Never mind then.

@Dr. Näbbfjun - I don't want to scare you, but if your computer keeps doing this you should scan for viruses and rootkits. Maybe give your whole machine a good look - failing harddrive/motherboard, overheating issues ... i had something similar happen a few months back - turned out one of my graphics card slots on the motherboard is failing.
@SpookyAndrew: I assure you, my laptop is perfectly fine. From what I could gather from the mostly useless windows crash report window thingie, the problem lies with XACT. I've got a USB headset (a Logitech G930 to be specific) which I discovered Windows 8 keeps around in the sound devices list even after it's unplugged, for whatever reason. If I still have the headset selected as the default sound device when I launch your game, it crashes. Don't know if you have any power of what sound device XNA chooses, but I imagine this is a pretty rare issue anyway :)

Thank you very much for the info - goes to confirm some things and gives an idea as to causes with certain problems.
