Does F.E.A.R Have to be Installed?

For the 2 expansions to work does the original F.E.A.R. have to be installed?

So this must be why the file size is so large on F.E.A.R., just beat the original, hope the expansions are worth a run through

It's not that the original has to be installed for the expansions, it's that if you install any of them it installs all of them. It is just the way they packaged it after they rolled the 2 expansions into the original for Steam.

You right, they were greyed out but I never realized they were already installed in my library!

Are the expansions even worth playing? I just finished FEAR and i cant wait to play the second one but should I play the expansions first or are they not tied in with the story whatsoever?

Mr Bigglesworth, I finished both expansions this week. I found them rarther good. Perseus Mandate in particular doesn't deserve the poor reviews it got, IMHO: yes it's more FEAR, that's to be expected and as for me I wasn't looking for anything else. Extraction Point is the direct sequel of FEAR. Perseus has another main character, but explains more of the story than the other two. Difficulty wise, Perseus is harder, combat is tougher, but is a bit less spooky I think.
