Lego Batman is a first attempt for TT to encompass the Gotham DC scene in it's own unique campaign. Each character has their own unique abilities including the ability to use unique items during each play through. Batman LEGO is an incredible package for value, with an extraordinary amount of content for the small size of the game.
The game offers two campaigns, in which it's the same campaign played from the perspective of the opposing faction. This basically makes the game two games with unique experiences under the same platform and the game is incredible value for money. It features three chapters and five levels per faction (cops/robbers). It has a variety of unique vehicles, characters, abilities and maps inside of a charming world.
Alas, it's not all positives for the reimagination of this world. You aren't able to engross yourself in Batman LEGO, as there's a limitation to character personality apart from everybody making grunts and laughs. The childish nature of this game while intended kinda puts a cap on the possible nostalgia and replayability, even though it's got remarkable amounts of content for the size of the game. And naturally, because it is the first in the series on a limited budget, you can't really feel the awesomeness coming through to the consumers.
All in all, if you're looking for Batman, LEGO, and a simple and fun way of connecting with a child it's a fantastic reimagination of a friendly dark world in a light hearted setting. It's totally worth playing, but it's not for everybody...
