Broken Achievements.
There seems to be a few broken achievements, like the Purple Heart one where you have to get a victory with 1 life left, which i got and the game even said so, but then it locked up again on Steam. Please fix your achievements.

"locked up again on Steam" - so, it was unlocked on Steam at a certain point and then became un-unlocked?

Oh, wait, according to a posting of yours (I refer to TheStickKid), it looks exactly that's what happened.. which is odd.. since the code doesn't lock achievements even (except with a hotkey and only in a debug build [which doesn't exist on Steam]), only unlocks. If/when I'm asked to work on FR1 again, I'll take a look at that.

@jim yes it unlocks first (in the "Gamelist" it shows as unlocked) but then in the achievement page it looks locked again.

One tip to make you localize it: In-game it unlocks , but a Steam popup never comes.

Also the achievement Diehard - is not unlocking at all, also not in-game.

Hmm, ok, so it never unlocks as far as Steam is concerned. Odd, definitely something for me to note.

Purple Heart working. How to get. We pass the mission, take Achievement in the game. But Achievement does not appear in Steam. Finish the mission and start it again. Once enemies flee, Achievement appears and in Steam too.

Whoa, that's quite the repro. Something odd about the game logic, then, if that's the way to unlock it. Thanks for noting the steps.

Another broken one - Hardcore. I just finished getting all the other achievements, this is now the only one left - but it won't unlock. Seems like I met the requirement ...

Looking at the code, you won't get this achievement if:
- you cheated (i.e. hand-edited a data file)
- Steam client wasn't running, or Steam server was down, or internet connection generally was not working ok at the exact moment the achievement was detected as being achieved
- some Steam server blip (I occasionally see sometimes an issue with an achievement or stat, and especially an achievement based on a stat, with this and other games)

The unfortunate thing is that the way the code was written, if the achievement was not able to be saved on Steam's server at the moment the achievement was detected, there is no way to force it happening again in the case of hardcore (since all the other achievements were achieved, there is nothing that could re-trigger the detection).

But one thing I can ask - do you see it as unlocked within the game UI (on the game's achievement screen) but not on your Steam account? Or is it locked on both the in-game screen and on your Steam account screen?

It shows as unlocked in the game UI but not on the Steam account for me.

Hmm, given that these achievements got pretty solid testing on the iOS/GameCenter version of the game, I am thinking it was a network/server problem at the moment the achievements were attempted to be unlocked on the Steam server. We save out the unlocked state to a data file (which lives in the cloud storage, in case you have both Windows/Mac versions of the game) so that the in-game achievement screen correctly reflects the state, but we make no attempt to re-try telling Steam about the unlocked state. Hmm, I know for a fact that re-trying based on save data would be a huuuuge "no-no" on PSN (it's a TRC violation), for example, so I wonder if it's also "correct" to not re-try on Steam as well, with the thinking that one could just simply hack the save data to unlock all the achievements the next time the game is run. The only thing I can think of, though I am sure this is not desirable, is to delete your save data (or maybe just temporarily copy it to a directory in case you want to copy it back) and re-try to achieve the achievement (so that it unlocks on the Steam server).

@Jossy - is it unlocked on the in-game achievement screen, though?

no it's not - i play 75 rounds on 1 life (or with 1 life left) but it doesn't unlock. Maybe it only works on certain game modes?

Looking at the code, "die hard" is locked to only the "endless" game mode. Are you playing on a different mode?

On the "Hardcore" one: no cheating involved. I finally finished playing a bajillion games where I just let the computer win (to get "Lemming"). You could say I'm a little OCD :) but after all that work I was very disheartened to think I would be denied "Hardcore" just because of a glitch - leaving me at a frustrating 98% completion on this game.

But today when I logged into Steam, the achievement popped up! I don't know the reason for the delayed trigger or anything, but it made me very happy!
