Full Screen
I recently got a new computer, on the old computer (17 inch display) full screen mode worked fine, on the new computer (15 inch display) I am "zoomed in" on the top left corner so that I can't see the bottom of the screen to start a level. Any suggestions?

Could you post a screenshot? I am curious how much of the screen is there. Also, what was your resolution on your 17in., and what is your resolution on your 15in.?

I have tried all the resolution options on the new laptop, they all are the same...The screen shot shows the whole screen that is supposed to be there. When in full screen mode it is like there is a black frame around the game screen which is aligned to the top left corner and I can see down to the fieldrunner's feet.

I just tried uninstalling/reinstalling, and it will not reinstall. Says I am missing file privligaes :(

Wow, that is weird....you see only part of the screen (some upper-left portion), but an alt-prtscrn shows the whole screen instead of what you see?? If so, could you take a picture with your cell phone? And also let me know what screen resolution you are running in.

I have exact the same problem, but I can take screenshots, I have uploaded it:

Windows 10 Pro, version 1703, build 15063.483, 64 bits
3200x1800 (notebook display)

Please fix it, I want to play

Edit: The problem is the scaling option on large screens, just set it to 100% for a temporal fix

Ahh, the pesky Windows 10 scaling! I have seen this wreak havoc elsewhere, so I'm not surprised that is the culprit here. Hmm, this game went out as a WinXP build, basically, so I'm surprised Windows 10 isn't compensating by treating this application as "old skool" and not doing anything weird when scaling is generally enabled. Anyway, good find, and if I am asked by Subatomic to fix bugs on Fieldrunners (still want that darned framerate stutter fixed), this would be a good thread to remind me of this scaling issue. I wonder if updating the SFML library used by the game would just fix this automatically.

I have encountered the same issue on my system running Windows 8.1. I don't think it is necessary for me to list all of my specs, because the game has worked on my computer before. I am also trying to run the game on a laptop (as OP appears/appeared to be). This works fine on the laptop screen which has a native resolution of 1366x768. I have been using a second monitor exclusively for several months now, which has a resolution of 1920x1080. When I am projecting to the external monitor, I have the 'zoomed-in" issue that is the subject of this thread.

I have not had this particular issue with any other games using the external monitor, including some which are older than Fieldrunners. Sometimes older games have problems running on newer systems at all (except sometimes compatability mode is necessary for really old games), but this is usually an issue which occurs with or without a second monitor connected to my laptop.

I know the game is old, and I guess I don't expect you to fix the issue. Hopefully I can dig around and find a config file to tweak or something. If that is the case, I believe I am more likely to fix the problem than you.

does fullscreen vs. not-fullscreen help at all? what is your scaling value when you are connected to the external monitor?

i believe there is a .plist file that you may be able to tweak around with, though not sure how useful it is

find the fieldrunner.exe file and right click it. Use Windows troubleshooting to adjust the display.
