Guess many revierwes were put of by it's hard to adapt interface and steep learning curve, plus, you know, bugs.

The bugs are hilarious most of the time, but a lot of people seem to think that Data -owes- them something. Tons of people are raging and flaming him for being slow on the updates. It's a fully playable game, people need to learn to accept that developers have ups and downs in their lives, games are not developed on the consumer's terms. Get over it whiners.
It probably also has to do with how non mainstream the game is, if a game is really well advertised and everyone knows about it (assuming it's a sturdy game), reviewers generally end up giving it glowing reccomendations regardless of how good the game actually is, or how many downsides it has.

The only thing I have to complain about this game, is all the awesome mods people made, but didn't update to the current version. It makes me sad :c

Just downgrade to an earlier version of the game. There is actually not much of a difference between versions for the last few years. The mods are good enough to totally eclipse any minor adverse effects that come from downgrading CC version.

Go home fanboy. People paid 20$ for this game in good faith that he would get off his lazy can and finish the Beta process. Its closing in on a year since the Beta relase and there has been pitifully little progress made. He DOES owe us something, its called basic product support and we havent even gotten that.

He has made so little progress on this game that the community has had to fill in for him by modding it themselves.

Face the facts, this game is a side project Data screws around with once in a while when he feels like it--nothing more. You dont charge consumers 20$ for something like this, PROMISE them a finished game, then just disappear for months at a time without even a post.

While the game is occasionally buggy and lacks a well developed singleplayer campaign I have greatly enjoyed it, incidentally, I probably spent more time enjoying it when it was in earlier, buggier builds, with fewer features. I can understand why some people would be mad about the lack of support from the lone developer and I can empathize with being mad because promises made by that same developer were not delivered on with much polish or content to speak of in the official release, but that shouldn't stop us from enjoying the game for what it does well. In truth this game may just be in the wrong place at the wrong time, a time when indie developers are expected to produce small. highly polished games, not rough, open ended sandbox games that were slowly assembled over 10 years as a maybe-profitable pet project tested by and improved on by it's community. Frankly I think the game itself hasn't been given credit for the several things it does very well. Just enjoy it guys!

The game is roughly outdated by 11 years since the engine was made in 2001 and is rarely updated, it is fun but the dev is waaaay to lazy so I gotta agree with you manbearpig.

I love the game

I find it strange that people complain about the update speed. No one promised any updates and even if they did they didn't promise them at any certain date. I bought the game because it looked cool now, not because it was supposed to be updated. Also why do people hate the developer? He made the game but people hate him because of what he didn't put in it.

You've got to be kidding.

That's a leading question. Who said they hated the developer?

Well about the update speed personally i havent wanted an update that badly because i mod/download mods for whatever i find wrong though complaining about it isnt going to get it done any faster.

Second. almost every time i see a post about a bug it quickly escalates to something about "the developers a lazy bum" or something similar but i dont mean this post neccassarily. also i dont mean the people here.

Correct me if im wrong.

I may be called a fanboy sometimes and I played the game for about a hundred hours but I feel that this game needs more patches than any other game, exept skyrim or something like that, the point is, mods aren't an exuse for a lazy dev and buggy game, why people complain is because maybe it will convince people to not buy the game an teach the dev a lesson.

Yeah, because the earth revolves around promises, if it isn't a promise it wont happen is your philosophy apperently, this game is still a game and people should exect it to be updated, might I add.... DUH!
