If you see only black screen

I see a lot of new people having that problem but noone giving fixes, based on my brief experiences with the game you just have to set a resolution the game 'likes' then it will start and you can use full-screen without problem too. You can change the game resolution in the settings.cfg (steamapps/game directory/base.rte) Low 4:3 resolutions always worked for me (800:600 for example) but try which fits your screen best, hope this helps a few guys at least.

This doesn't help at all, actually.

I tried every single resolution, and had no affect.

Clearly this game only really supports certain GPUs and even then probably only particular driver versions.
