Does anyone else think that the Hate Plus song 'It's not Ero!' was written by an evil genius?
The new song 'It's not Ero' (which you can listen to here: http://isaacschankler.bandcamp.com/track/its-not-ero-feat-senah-kim) starts off ever so sweetly and fun, but towards the middle and end it turns so sad! And now It's stuck in my head for the past 3 days .... Just wondering if anybody else has been having the same experience.

Uhm, if you want to call *Mute that, you can...~?
Giandalf Aug 13, 2013 @ 10:30am
*Mute wrote the song? Damn you *Mute .... Damn you!

(I do think it is quite obvious that it's supposed to be *Hyun-ae singing the song, no? -*cough* Burning steel *cough* - so sad! )

Stuck in my head, too. Damn good song.

This song is making me consider giving these games a second chance. So good.

It is isn't it! I'm biased of course, but you really should consider giving this game a chance! ^^ I think it's awesome.

You're not biased if you're the customer and you've judged for yourself how good the game might be~

Ah, good point .... In that case: PLAY THE GAME. It's incredible!

So, something you're excited about becomes sadder and sadder until it drives you mad over the course of three days, you say?

Well, I'm kind of already mad to begin with so I don't know how it could get any worse. That said, don't you think it's actually a pretty sad song? I know it starts upbeat, but just looking at the lyrics, it makes all the feels come back. At least for me. 'My first kiss was only burning steel' <- whoever thought that one up was an evil genius!

I was under the impression it was *Mute singing the song, since she says she'll reconsider her fear of wifely matters (she's kinda homophobic, being from a neo-Confucian society) and she talks about "living in sin", which again, is referencing the virtue that neo-Confucianism emphasises.

I don't know, from what I've seen of *Mute she seems extremely sociable. And I might agree with you if there wasn't the line: 'my first kiss was only burning steel', I don't think *Mute was ever threatened with any kind of steel, burning or not.

I'd also say the song is about/supposed to be sung by *Hyun-Ae. The burning steel being the blade that cut her tongue, living in sin because she caused the death of thousands of people and reconsidering her wifely matters in regards of her disliking the tradional role model women had in the time period she awoke in.

I still wonder why the song plays after the Harem End in Hate+ though and not after playing her own route. That's the real question for me.

Yeah, that's something that bothers me too. I can't seem to find an appropriate answer to that though.

Actually, she's openly okay with men having homosexual relationships as long as they still do their duty and take wives, care for them properly, and have children.
