Quick (and maybe stupid) question
How do you pronounce *Mute? Is that supposed to be a Korean name?

I have no idea. to the second question. Now I dont even know the first..
I just pronounce it as the english word mute, unless Ms. Love were to say otherwise.
I think we pronouce *Mute like that (Miute)
it's not korean name. just pronounce it as english.
I checked with my mom (who's a native korean), and she suggests myu-tay.

Yep, it's English. Even in the Korean translation, her name is written as *뮤트, which as close to the English word as you can get in hangeul.

Do we find out why she's called that, or...?

It's a Mute point, really.
I'm Korean living in Korea whole my life, and I think *Mute is English. there is no Korean name like this.
well going from the fact that Mute appearance is wight skin, blond hair, and blue eye. it's safe to say the Mute is not Korean, or at least not based on a Korean person. So just read it like it is, and just place it as one of the mister's in Hate+
I found myself wondering if *Mute were a reference to Wintermute, one of the AIs in Gibson's classic Neuromancer, as well as a reference to the themes in the story: women are silenced. But maybe I'm thinking too hard about it...
