Will hate Plus be a stand alone game or require the original
Just wondering, if its stand alone I'll pick them both up later in August when it comes out or if it needs this one if I should get it now?

Hate Plus is going to be a standalone game; originally it was going to be DLC for Analogue, but the author changed it when she realised how large Hate Plus was going to be.

Why not pick up Analogue now? It's in the Summer Sale and it's 66% off. Hate Plus won't be in the sale and by the time it's released, Analogue will be back to original price.

It will be standalone, but I it will require an ending from Analogue. Though I think, it will have a default variant for those who will have not played Analogue (ha, this tence is not used, but it looks suitable :D)

If you have Analogue already, you can start Hate Plus using one of your Analogue ending save files. It'll pick up where Analogue left off. As a bonus to Analogue players, if you have a harem ending save file, you can start with that immediately unlocked in Hate Plus!

If you don't have Analogue, you can start Hate Plus using the new game questionnaire, which will cover the basics of what happened in Analogue. (You can do this even if you do have Analogue.) You'll miss out on some of the details, but Hate Plus tells its own self-contained story, so it's still definitely playable even if you haven't played Analogue!

I'm a bit confused on the "pick up from your save file" bit. Do you have to save right before you download the logfiles and AI, or do you just have to have unlocked the given ending?

If you've beaten the game in a version that had achievements, you will have an ending save file.

Oh, that's great. Thank you so much for the response, I was a bit confused there.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I'm interested in a clarification to the above (specifically, the "immediately unlocked" line, given the upcoming Hate Plus release. Even though I completed all 5 endings in Analogue, would the harem start be unlockable to players who otherwise don't own Analogue, through normal gameplay means in Hate+?

The reason I'm asking is so I can get a sense of what's the most logical order of playthroughs. I'm concerned that starting with an "immediately" unlocked ending first, and then re-start with a different ending, may tell the story in reverse order, and thus be spoilerish and not as fun as the other way around.

Do you have any feedback on whether a certain start order would make most sense with regards to pacing?

In Hate Plus, the harem route can also be unlocked by finishing both two normal routes, if you haven't played Analogue.

You can do any route you want first and it shouldn't ruin the story, but I would personally recommend starting with *Mute's route.

This is a stupid question but does Analogue have steam cloud? I finished it 100% but I have it uninstalled, will I have my save file if I install it?

Yeah, Analogue has Steam cloud, and your saves stay in %APPDATA%\renpy\analogue anyway, IIRC.

I just downloaded my old copy of analogue, which has all the saved games too. I opened it and checked. Do i need to copy these saved games over to hate plus? It still wants me to do the questionnaire anyway...
*edit*
For some reason Hate Plus doesn't recognize my 3 finished save files. I loaded up a save just before the ending of the game completed it again. I got a new finished save that worked. Not sure why... I don't fancy doing this for the other endings since i'm not sure which saved games they were or if i even saved before getting those endings.
