The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition

The Witcher 2 on Mac works fine for me
I'm running:
OS X Mavericks 10.9.3

Computer Specs: Macbook Pro w/ Retina -Mid 2012.
2.3ghz Quad Core
8gb 1600mhz Ram
256 SSD
Intel 4000HD
Nvidia GTX 650m w/ 1gb

I was skeptical about buying this game at first, but since it dropped to $3.99 for the summer sale, I did anyway. Moreover, I've found that there is an option in the launcher that allows you to change your graphics card vram allocations. For some reason, when it autodetects the graphics card, it registers as 'very small'. Change this to Large -or even 'very large'- and it should work like a charm.

Actually I can confirm this. I quickly tested one battle scene on high spec setting and 1600 X 900 and it runned okayish.

My machine is imac 2013 2,9 quad core i5 and gt 750 1gb.

That's awesome. Yeah, I'm running my resolution a little below that, but with everything else basically maxed. I'm really enjoying this game.

I have the Intel Graphics HD 4000 with 1GB Vram... and i tried the "very large" setting... the game is still laggy and annoying. THe mouse lag is horrible as well.

That's because integrated graphics cards are not supported by The Witcher 2. You need a dedicated graphics card. What you can do is run it at low settings and then try the "Large Setting" and hopefully you'll be able to run it without lag at the cost of aesthetics.

Did you try changing the graphics settings, as mentioned above? Also, do you have a dedicated graphics card?

Question..when i custom the advanced settings in the configure tool they wont save, they go right back to small when i go back into options. do you have an idea why? I too have a intel 5000. the game runs just fine, except for the graphics glitches that will pop up.

Yeah, actually it does the same thing to me. Every time I want to play, I go in to the graphic options and re-adjust the settings. As of yet, I don't know of a way to save the options. Sorry about that.

The Intel GPU does not have VRAM exactly- it uses your system ram. OS X does not report this when we ask it about how much VRAM there is and so we detect a really low value.

We don't support the Intel GPU's because of driver bugs that will cause rendering glitches. If you can live with those, then the game will run !

Unfortunately those graphics glitches get worse as you progress, making the game unplayable at many points as you can't see what is going on. If you could ever update the game at some point with a fix for all of us with the new intel chips that would be great though.
