I've use the config tool from Witcher 2 Nexus. Focus on AA and grass/tree view distances. If you configurate it right, you can play with most settings at HIGH/ultra. My performance drops pretty bad when I have ubersampling enabled, but it can get me motionsick if the frames drop too much. Best to leave that setting off. Experiment with different settings on grass/trees/plants and their corresponding viewdistances, and you surely find a compromise that gives you a desireable framerate. If you own a GTX 670 2GB, you can easily play 1080 on 60 fps when using the configuration tool.
I've recorded a video on these settings, but anything above 720p seems to have dissappeared after youtube made changes in their compression and framerate increase (from 30 to 60)
My old vid doesn't seem to support 60 fps, even though the source material was 60 fps and 1440p resolution.
