Was 'Ghost' a good purchase?
Ever since I began playing CoD: MW3 - I was hooked! Both by the SinglePlayer and the
multiplayer part!

But with Ghost.. The SinglePlayer story is great and I like it but the online part? I mean, everytimeI play it, I feel like people ALWAYS knows where I am, they can kill me miles away and almost one shoot me, while I can fill them with bullets and yet nothing happens.

Im not sure if it's because it's more intense.. Im not the best player at all and I play CoD because it's good fun and not because it's a 2nd day job like some people find it.

I can't find 1 good reason for playing the online part since I feel no matter how hard I try to camp (I usually don't camp since Im against it myself unless you're sniper) or trying to run for the hills - I get shot! D:

IW increased the TTK -- Time to Kill -- To compensate for the lag compensation many complained about in early games. The irony is this now forces people to camp to avoid BS kills like the ones you and many others are experiencing.

The only real solution would have been for IW to invest in a new engine and stop using the modified Quake III engine they've been using since the first CoD. That, however, would have cost a lot of R&D and time... Something Activision doesn't give any of its developers.

The online is boring because all people care about are their K/D ratios and nothing else. I was in a game of TDM on Containment on the XB1, and EVERYBODY was camping. No, I mean every single player was camping instead of running around looking for kills. It's a little better in the objective modes, but not by much as most people turn those modes into TDM and don't care about capping flags, or anything else.

This is why I play Squad Assault almost exclusively now since A) The bots actually move around the maps, B) Your win/loss counts on the leadboards (vs. Private Match/Wargames) and C) You know the bots are going to "hack", but at least if you die, you die because of this and not because of latency issues and outdated lag compensation since the game is played on your machine using your own assets (models, maps, etc).

Well, Im not the kind of person to lay around and camp with an assault rifle and just wait for people to run past me. But it still doesn't explain why IM the one who's getting killed even before I see them. Almost each time I find someone, I aim and the next second, Im the one who's dead! And this is just in TDM. I haven't had the curage to try any of the other options there is because I know - as you say yourself - people are only thinking of their K/D ratio and if you are 'bad' at the game, most people will be yelling 'noob' at you.

Im not sure if 'Ghost' was my best purchase. But the story is surprisingly good! :)

I think it's a fun game with the right people (friends you can trust who don't hack) if played on LAN (so no latency issues), but other than this, it's not a very competitive or technically sound game by a long shot,IMO.

Yeah, but most friends I have play MW3 and we're usually having a good laugh about it xD But maybe if I gave the online part another chance :)

It's a rubbish PC port, probably would have been better off just getting it on a console. To being with. Been playing some on consoles lately and its not as bad as I figured it would be (always been hardcore on just playing FPS on PC). If anything, I think the necessity of everyone using gamepads puts everyone on the same level of functional retardation and lowers the skill cap of the game -- I do much better playing MW3 on PS3 than I do playing any CoD on PC.

Well, I find it easier to play CoD on PC but I guess it depends on what you like to play it on.. Plus, I find the games for console alot more expensive! :O

I agree with [S.W.E] Malanore i have been playing Call of Duty since it came out well Call of Duty 4 for that part , playing on a PC is fun , i is faster , Graphics is better then console and console is slow sorry to say but i never liked it, Call of Duty - Modern WArfare 3 was a epic game on my part the feel of the game was great , then cam Call of Duty - Black Ops 2 it was a good game MP was ok i never really got a grip on that game , A the sniping for some season was ♥♥♥♥ i could almost never get a kill , and thenthere is Call of Duty - Ghosts the graphics is great but he mobilty of the game feels a bit slow not nearly as fast as Call of Duty - Modern Wafare 3 and a few of the weapons in Call of Duty - Ghosts is Really To OP and the snipers a ♥♥♥♥ in Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 3 i was one of the best snper in my clan |SAGE| but in Call of Duty - Ghosts i feel like icant shoot a sniper to save my life i hate it not being able to snipe so well and it is true wha you guys say people seem to come out of no where and kill you no body plays as a team anymore like in the other Call of Dutys it is ♥♥♥♥ a TDM is ike a F###### free for all and i hate free for all Call of Duty - Ghosts is a good game SP is great and fun but MP sucksass if unot playng wih friends because as you say everyone hacks because they cant play for ♥♥♥♥ F####### noobs if there is one thing that i wishthey wold bring back ito Call of Duty is the LAN i miss that being able to play with friends over a LAN not having to play with them over the Internet if they had to bring that back Call of Duty would get alot more games sold Call of Duty - Ghosts is fun really it is for me but asfun if you not playing with friends :(

Yeah, I'm kinda in your boat too. I think I am kinda familiar with Ghosts maps now, but I can never do as well in it as in BO2. I am much less familiar with MW3 maps, but I still do better in MW3 than in Ghosts.

Still, I prefer Ghosts gameplay over BO2/MW3 (as long as not everybody is camping), or when I'm playing Squads with bots. I like the movement/weapons physics better.

I have played less than under 4 hours of Ghost. And each time I play, I play for like 15 mins and then go back to MW3. There, I know I can shoot someone! I might not be top 3 (even though it has happened but then my team is REALLY ♥♥♥♥♥♥ LOL).

And yes! I agree with TOMB8STON3! It's more fun to play with friends than some random strangers who mostly will call people for noobs! Each time my friends are over we always sit with a bottle of Tequila or Vodka and then it's time for hunting peeps! XD

I have never played BO/BO2 I admit that. Nor the "older" versions of Call of Duty. But from what people is telling me, they prefer MW > Ghost.

- Another thing I hate (we all hate hackers except for hackers lol), is people with akimbo! I thank God I haven't met one in Ghost yet if you even can go akimbo! I usually call those peeps for 'Akimboobs' xD - So if you meet me in one of your games and are using akimbo, be really to be called Akimboob! :P

- And about camping: alot of people (in MW3) are complaining about camping. I think it's fine if you're a SNIPER! Camping with an assult rifle is NOT okay! D: A SNIPER is supposted to camp somewhere! XD

A lot of the hate for Ghosts from the general community is because they don't like the more realistic approach IW took with Ghosts. They want a more arcade shooter like the previous games.

That's fine, but I am glad IW took a risk and tried to make Ghosts more of a sim-cade experience than just the same old Quickscoping, Drop shotting game with predictable three-lane maps. Now, that's boring, IMO.

The TTK is actually only about a frame less than BO2, but the new physics system and movement make people think the game is "slow" and this is what promotes camping the most. Again, it's mostly perception because everybody is used to and wants a game like BO2 that feels outdated (IMO), but is easier to play.

- I don't mind them doing something new, but it would have been nice to feel it wasn't slow and all. Not saying it shall be like the previous games being able to quickscope and all that.

TTV-Neraaka Oct 13, 2014 @ 11:21am

I generally prefer PC but BO1/2 are pretty much the only CoD games I can stand to play on PC. IW's games just don't work as well for various reasons. The price issue can vary greatly... I mean you can get a used copy of MW3 on PS3 for like $6, its still $40 on PC.

That is one of the reasons why I don't buy CoD game on Steam. No matter how old they are, they are still expensive and whyI buy them retail :D
