Resident Evil ORC Won't install Windows 8 >_<
I recently bought and downloaded Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City complete pack on steam. It looked like a great sale so I got it. I downloaded it and when I try to install, IT DOESN'T ♥♥♥♥ING WORK! I have twice the minimum requirements, and when I click play, it says the little stupid "Installing Microsoft Rdeist 2 of 2." screen fades to black, then I taken right back to my desktop. I keep hearing some people saying this game does not work for Windows 8, and a lot of other people say it does. Does anyone have a Windows 8 Pc, and can you get the game to run? I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, downloading some stupid marketplace app from Microsoft, loong for the Settings.Dat for this game, etc. Any help is appreciated.

OP. When you have a problem, and found a solution post it here for others to see. Makes you a better person. By not doing that I actually hate people like you OP. People who go to forum boards to say problem solved and do not even ♥♥♥♥ing bother to say what or how.

Yea, I have the same issue and I'd like to know how you fixed this issue as well.

Try going to the properties option of your steam game after cache intergrity check and click the local hard drive option. My open up to the C drive area where my game is stored and I clicked the game application and it works, while clicking the play option in my game library didn't work.

I found a solution withch might solove your problem aswell. To start this game you need to install somthing called "Microsoft games for live". http://www.microsoft.com/games/en-gb/Live/Pages/livejoin.aspx . If you allready have this installed then you need to login to this client. In windows 8 the simplest solution after installing this game is to go to "Games" in windows menu (if you have installed a "start button" like this one ; http://www.classicshell.net/ in windows 8 its way easier to find- especially if you are used to windows 7...). In "Games" you will find "Resident Evil Operation Raccon City". "Double click" on the icon and it should start. When/if you get into the game you will need to login to your live account (or create one if you want to use another hotmail to register your RE game key on).

Whats the point of making this so complicated? One word ; DRM (register one game -> account)

First of all, I was in a rush when I typed this up. Second, calm the hell down. New to this kind of thing. First I downloaded: http://www.xbox.com/en-CA/Live/PC/DownloadClient this after I uninstalled the game. Then after I installed this, I reinstalled the game and it suddenly started running ok. I appreciate the rest of you for being patient with me. Sinceraly Sorry. As for you, grow up and get over it. Problem solved.

That link is a little games for windows app from Microsoft for those who are suspicious. Like I said, just coming off consoles xD. Comment if this doesn't work. This obviously pissed me the hell off as you can see.

Mine occasionally won't launch but what bugs me is that I can't change the resolution without the screen freezing. It defaults to my native res of 1080 but I want to run it windowed at a lower res. Any thoughts on how to get this to work? If I change textures and whatnot it still runs fine, it's only when I change the resolution or fullscreen option.

You should be able to start the program in windowed mode. If you start it in windowed mode it might let you change your resolution.
