Guns of Icarus, a game-simulator of REPAIRTHEHULLYOUIDIOTS.
Rather unique game with various game modes. As you start with the Novice level (levels before lvl 8 of any class) you are given simple ships to control ("Goldfish", "Pyramideon" and "Junker"). Every ship has their own unique pros or cons so it depends on what kind or ship you choose for your team. Each ship has around 3 engines, 1 hull and a balloon, as well as the guns. The hull is the most important part as it works like your armor which can be repaired. If this armor is down your ship takes damage, the ship damage can not be repaired.
A team can be max up to 3 ships with their own crew. And the only way to contact the other crew in-game is either by having captains speak in their private voice chat or in the team text chat that entire team can see.
It doesn't have next-gen graphics but all the locations and views are beautiful so I give it 8/10.
There are 3 classes to play: Captain, Gunner and Engineer. All of the classes can do eachother's roles, but without being able to use "Boost" ability on things they are not meant to be doing (such as boost for the ship [captain], boost for reload speed [gunner] or boost for run speed [engineer]). Each class also has 1 item/perk that is used for either guns or the ship or for the repairing (depending on which class they do NOT belong to).
There is only 1 captain in the crew. His main priority is to control the ship and use his perks to give it buffs for the cost of damage per second to engines or balloons, some for the cost of movement priorities.
The gunner's task is to... well, wield guns. He has 3 perks that he can use, each of them has specific affection on the gun's priorities, such as attack speed, clip size, damage and projectile speed. He can also repair stuff but less efficiently (given he has only 1 tool that he can use for repairing)
Engineer is the hero of your crew and possibly the second gunner if has good affiliations with the guns and his single perk that he has. If there were to be a comparison between a moba and Guns of Icarus, engineer is your support. Engineer wields 3 different tools. Each tool has their own priority for fixing and extinguishing fire. Engineer's tools are rather different from perks of Gunner and Captain. His tools either repair a big amount of health but have a big cooldown on repairing; have a good fire extinguishing power but low fire immunity time, and so forth. Playing engineer is rather hard, unless the Captain gives you good builds and orders for keeping your ship alive.
Even though a crew can hold on well enough without an engineer by being able to fix their ship, they won't last long enough since it will distract the entire crew to fixing the ship.
There is also a variety of different maps. There are big maps and medium maps. Big ones are only open to non-novice difficulty. The environment is also quite dangerous in these maps. There are sand storms and snow storms that will do bad things like damaging your ship when in it.
Finally, there is customization. In order to not have your ships and characters look all the same you can modify their colors, skins, hats, clothes, ship's logo, ships colors, etc, etc. You unlock some while you can also buy the rest from the in-game store. Note, these do NOT give any perks or advantages for your team, only the cool looks.
All in all, this game highly relies on crew communication and strategy of your captains.
I don't think we would of ever seen a game like this, it makes communication the first priority in any crew.
