Test matchmaking and get access to the Developer version of the game

After a few months of gathering feedback, thinking, planning, designing, building, and tinkering we are getting ready for everyone to help us test the new matchmaking system. The system is designed to address a number of issues that you have raised such as imbalanced lobbies, longer lobby wait times, uneven crews, and loadout arms race. By joining our testing efforts you will receive access to the Dev App, the playground for all new features and contents before they see the light of day. The early access, like a diamond, is forever.


Once you sign up, your email will be used to give you a Steam code to access the Dev app and to let you know when testing sessions are going to occur.

We are really excited about matchmaking, and we believe it’ll be great for the community, but we also know that this takes extensive testing and some fine tuning to be as good as it can be. This means we need as many people as possible to sign up, join in, and help make Guns of Icarus Online a better place!

Will using matchmaking be required to play the game when it hits production (eg will there be no visible match list)?

Yes, but events and tournaments will still be able to be held in private matches.
So you create the match, you invite the two team leaders, they invite their teams. Good to go.
