Witcher 1 is an interesting, captivating and even at times, funny game, that is if you can get past many of the little quirks that are guaranteed to annoy you, just a little bit. The main things that annoyed me is, obviously the combat. It is boring, tedious and doesn't seem very inspired, just click, wait for the mouse cursor to change and click some more, this makes the monster contracts somewhat of a chore instead of "Oh boy! A new creature to slay!" At least for me. Probably not a complaint you'll hear often, but I found the dialogue to be at times very strange, and the characters animations while talking can sometimes be very distracting.
Now for some positive things about it; The story is very well done, same with the characters. It's got a dynamic weather system if you're into that type of thing, although for me, it seemed to always rain! Made it a drag sometimes, ha. I really enjoyed the poker dice game, probably a couple hours from that alone. I'd say if you're into RPG's The Witcher is something you should at least give a chance, I know I'm glad I did.
