Mac os x update issue
cannot open Witcher Enhanced after downloading latest mac os x update yesterday. Extremely fast error message seems to refer to a wine problem, but cannot capture or read it. Have re-installed game, no difference, Anyone else having trouble?

Hi, this happened to me as well. Rght click (command click maybe?) on the game's name in the library list. Click properties. Click through the tabs til you see "Check game data" or something like that, then click that button. It should say it deleted 7 files. The next time you launch it, a program called Wine should give you the option to download and install some file. Do that and it works. Took me all afternoon but I will play this game this weekend darn it.

It's "Verify integrity of game cache" and it's in the "Local files" tab under "properties."

Yeah, OS X 10.8.2 update changed OpenGL and broke Wineskin's (it's the Windows simulator that The Witcher runs under) version of X11. There is a new version of Wineskin that you can manually install (http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com) or wait for Red Project to come up with an update.

went and got the latest Wineskin, thanks for that, still no luck, so waiting for an update I guess ...

I get the same here. On OSX 10.7.5 I go to launch and it just sits on a black screen with the pointer cursor. Have to quit out. Have tried installing the Wine version as mentioned here and the trick to revalidate the files but neither worked. This is really annoying as I only just purchased the game and cant play it! I take it devs are looking at fixing this?

Same here. Tried wine. Tried downloading verifying game cache. Now I'm switching over to windows.

if you switch over to windows can you use the same save games?

That's what I did. They are located in your personal Libarary/com.cdprojektred.TheWitcher
Just copy them over to your VM or Bootcamp.

I'm having the same problem, black screen on startup, have to force quit out. Quite frustrating since I just bought it :(

Time for a bit of the old "Me too...".
Very frustrating.

This page/tutorial resolves this problem (with Mac OS X 10.7.5 update) for me!

I used it previously for Wineskin update and for performance increase and currently with new Wineskin/Wine Engine it works again for me!
