The problem is not the HD Graphics 3000/4000, is the game, it doesn't recognize the GPU. To run the game, you'll have to add this switch "-dontForceMinReqs", but be prepared to play the game with the low quality textures... :(

Can you be more specific about where to add the switch? I'm afraid I have the same problem and I lack the savvy to find the appropriate location.

I have good news for you, I play The Witcher 1 EE on my Intel Core i3 (2,4 GHZ) with Intel HD 4000 graphics, and 4 GB DDR3, all runs on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, and it works well without any switches. If somebody has doubts about pc's ability to handle this game I strongly recommend get the DEMO version of The Witcher 1 and try it, if demo works, then and full game will work :)
