Witcher action issues on Mac
Love the look of this game and really want to dive in but the combat glitches out really bad. Any kind of attack shows no movement but enemy health is lost at an unpredictable rate. Also, sometimes upon getting to the main screen the mouse icon is not visible and there is no movement in screen whatsoever which always ends up in a hard quit. Help??

Just beat the game yesterday on Mac. 2012 MBP 13 inch with Intel HD 4000 graphics. Game played smoothly and looked great (settings on medium and the filter on 8X). What computer are you using?

Have you tried verifying the files? I had like 9 missing earlier in the game. The notification said it recovered them.

Note: Can't play the second one even on low as the textures are muddy, popping in and out, etc...

Running the 2011 MBP 13 inch with Intel HD 3000 and 8 GB of RAM. I"ll give the files verification a shot! Never would have thought of that in a million years.

I'm guessing only a handful of your settings are on Medium, but the files should fix your problem.

In a later part of the game, When I would exit a particular cave the game would crash. After the file fix it stopped.

Might sound stupid but i did the files verification thing three times and as of two days ago I beat the game. if you can get into the game to some degree try lowering all of your settings then restarting it. Things like getting to the opening screen and having to hold down shift just to get the mouse Icon to appear or dealing with the occasion crash are ridiculous but small prices to pay for such an epic game. Give me some details on whats going on and I might be able to help...

I kind of solved it. I update wineskin with the last version and it's more stable. it crashes sometimes, but it's definitely playable. Thanks

Sorry, I know this is a super old post, but what specs are your 2012 macbook pro? Stock? I got mine 2012 as well and I'm wondering how well this game will work. I just got the basic MBP, no upgrades. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

its stock except for the ram upgrade i performed (core i5, 8gb of ram, 5400rpm drive, etc...). Hoping by the end of this year I will replace the harddrive with an ssd.

everything will run on medium settings except for grass. AF will be on 8X, and frame rate should be above 30. I ididn't have a fps counter on but it felt around the 40's. There were only two sections in the game were you will probably have to lower the settings, and more than likely you could just change AF.

To this day I think the game looks great, so enjoy the visuals and story.

by the way, once you are done playing witcher 1, don't try 2. It will not run on our laptops. It will crash and burn, and chug at like 10 fps...

And go Red team!!!
