Need help with weapon stats
So... I'm 24 hours in but still can't understand the weapon stats... It didn't bother me at first but still I'd like to know. For instance what does +30% dmg mean, 30% realtive to what? How can I see the base damage it gives +30% to? And what's up with -x% dmg? What damage it reduces? Some weapins have plain stats , some don't that's kinda confusing, so any help would be appreciated.

The swords use the Witcher fighting styles (group, fast, strong or whatever), the styles have their own damage based on how you've upgraded them in the level up screen. Check your character screen and go to the skills for the 6 different fighting styles (3 for each type of sword) and the first or second ability in each tier will show you the damage.

Uh huh so the base damage is always the same as your upgrades show. So if it shows damage of 30-40 and I pick up a sword that says +30% I get 30-40 + 30% of that right?

right, each swing of the combo has a different base dmg, (you have to unlock the next swing in the combo, plus you can choose skills that increase dmg or critical effects), a sword or something that has +30% dmg will apply to any swing taken with that weapon, so if you have every swing or combo unlocked for a style, they will each get +30% dmg.
