Prepare before entering. Use Swallow and Tawny Owl, coat your blades. As soon as loading finishes, try to dodge to better spot to avoid being surrounded. Use steel swords and group style when fighting them. You'll get through it eventually :)

SPOILER

Inside the door, immediately hit pause (spacebar) and use Swallow/Tawny Owl (as above); now hit the center mass of people with your number-one magic skill to knock 2 or 3 of them down. Now, use Strong combat on axe-guys and fast combat on sword guys.
Don't fight more than two at once; if more than two are coming at you again, hit them with #1 magic again to knock them down.

I find this shocking, I just can't understand how someone could feel that way.

Why not just use the potions before you walk in the door? lol
I find this shocking, I just can't understand how someone could feel that way.
Because all you seem to do is walk from place to place looking for things and there is no clear indication of where you should look.I must have walked back and forth across the camp about 30 times and seemes to achieve nothing. There are far too many potions to mix and yo never know which ones you might need untill you are already in the battle.I just found it boring and pointless. Each to their own.
