See if that helps? I know it's redundent, but you just may get a cleaner install, If after you verify your game files as you stated. You can also try the forums at the sight I link to in my post.
- Download Wineskin Winery
- Once downloaded, extract the ZIP file. You should have an app named 'Wineskin Winery'.
- Run the app
- We need to install an Engine. Click the '+' button under Installed Engines. Install the latest version
- Now we need to install a Wrapper. Back on the main screen, press 'Update' in the Wrapper Version box, and it will prompt you to download the latest Wrapper
- After the download successfully completes, Create new wrapper, the name is irrelevant as you won't be using the hole thing.
- You may get a prompt asking you to install a Gecko package, click install as if you don't it crashes the game.
- Once it's complete, it will let you know where it saved your file. Choose 'View wrapper in Finder' to go directly to the app.
- Right click the app you just created, and click 'Show Package Contents'. There will be a folder named Contents, an alias to a drive_c, and an app named Wineskin. Take note of that app.
- In a new Finder window, open '~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/the witcher enhanced edition'.
- It should show the app for 'The Witcher', right click and 'Show Package Contents'
- Copy wineskin.app from the wrapper and paste it into witcher.app contents
- Run Wineskin.app inside The Witcher. It will show you a window with four options. Choose 'Advanced'.
- In the new window there will be three tabs. Click the 'Tools' tab, and find the Change Engine Used button under Wrapper Tools, and press it.
- The next window should show the currently installed engine, and an option to update the Engine. Press OK. It will take a while to update, be patient.
- Once it's finished, quit and launch the witcher
You should now be able to get the witcher to work, i've played around an hour so far with no issues other than it telling me to install gecko so do that before you play. The link for wineskin winery is below.http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-index.php?page=Downloads
Hope this helps
