Please, 8-bit, explicit. Which quest, which phase of the quest, what have you done before? Read Geralt's journal: What do you find there?

Sorry. I picked up my game after I finally got it loading again after nearly a year. I am going through my quest list and this was one of them. I was told to return to him but I can't find him. I can't remember how this game works, whether I have moved on to far along the story and the game won't let me complete it(??)

Then it's impossible to predict if you can find Bolt or if he's gone for good.
