As seen in your stats, you haven't even finished the first chapter with Mors. Come back at least after chapter 2 and then we'll talk.
I find combat quite interesting and entertaining when fighting with companions and using special abilities (dog, fire sword, companion's abilities) against multiple opponents and bosses.
The introductory fight on the training yard in Castle Black is just a tutorial - don't judge the whole game by it.
As for me GoT system is much better than Dragon Age 2 system, where it's almost same but faster and don't have any tactics. And it's first RPG tey made, so it's very good result. So I suggest you never ever play anything except mmo crap, because you will not be able to understand it.
Play it for the story, even play it on the easy setting. The combat system is just rock, paper.....
But seriously.... even if it was rushed this games mechanics probably would not have been much better if the devs had more time.
