My steam reccomendation, for the unconverted:

Despite the bad rep, this is actually a very enjoyable game. The combat is slow, and only semi-interactive (no 'direct' attacking, you queue attacks, or enter slow motion to give special commands to yourself and allies) but after unlocking a few abilities and having a companion it becomes pleasantly tactical and engaging.

This game is about the story, first and foremost, and if you enjoy the lore and world of GoT you should enjoy playing this game. I think it's set at the time of the first book, possibley on a slight alternate reality. ‘Moral’ choices will affect the passage of a quest, influencing conversations and how people react to you with reasonable accuracy.

The game is very dialogue heavy (with good voice acting and characterisation for the most part) and offers, even from my mere 3 hours playing, plenty of opportunity for speculation as to who’s done what, why, and who they might be colluding with – hopefully you get the opportunity to put your theories to the test in future encounters with the relevant parties, but this remains to be scene. Already, there is healty lash of political intrigue.

I agree, I heard this game get a lot of bad rep, but didn't believe it, so when the price came down, I just had to see it. At first the game seemed a little bland, but as I played more of it, the story just started to suck me in. I have never read or watched any of the Game of Thrones Series, but after playing this game, I really want to!
