Steam error: this game is currently unavailable ( Unespecified error )
I've just got the game and after installing it I get that error message when I press 'play'.

Perhaps it has something to do with my computer configuration but all the other games run OK, so I just wanted to know if someone else has this problem and if anyone knows how to fix it, before contacting support.

Thanks.

Thanks for that but i had already done that, which is part of the procedure to try to fix this kind of errors. The main page is: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4595-wexn-6831

@Midnighter Any luck getting it to work?
Midnighter Sep 28, 2012 @ 4:34am
No, it doesn't work.
I have also tried to execute "Colourbind.exe" (which is in C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\ColourBind) from the browser but Windows gives this error message:
"Colourbind.exe is not a valid Win32 application".

I have checked the integrity of the local files with the tool that steam has for that, but it says that everything is OK.

@MistaMints, if you try to execute it from the browser, does it work?

By the way, in the store page of the game, if I click "view achievements" I get an error page.

I have the same problem. You are not alone, mate!

Have you tried deleting all the local contents of Colour Bind/ completely uninstalling it, and then re-installing?
Midnighter Sep 28, 2012 @ 12:45pm
@Dagh Druim: were you able to solve the problem?
@mazlix: I have just done that (uninstall + delete contents manually + reinstall) but it doesn't work

I'd like to know if those of you who don't have any problems can execute directly the file Colourbind.exe and start the game that way. If you can, I guess it might be a Windows version problem (looking for information about "not a valid Win32 application"). I'm running Windows XP Professional SP3.

opened the file with 7z and it has some resources and icons but no executable. could be when they added workshop sccess they got the exe mixed up or corrupted. my download was only 21 mb so it is probably too small......
Dinaroozie  [developer] Sep 28, 2012 @ 4:29pm
zbblackops: That's pretty weird... I'm not sure why it'd show up with no executable but it's definitely working on some people's machines so something's executing in there somewhere. Funnily enough, the 21MB download is expected - it's a very small game.

Everyone: Could people experiencing this problem let us know which version of Windows they're running? I have a sneaking suspicion that has something to do with it.

Ah dammit, I think I know what the issue is. Working on a fix now - should be able to get things patched up some time Saturday (American time). I'll post back here when it's sorted. Sorry about that, everyone.

Actually, scratch that - we were able to roll back to a different version that should work fine for you now (let me know if it does/doesn't). I'll get back to figuring out what the real problem is now. :)

Now it's working! First impression is great, it reminds me of Elasto Mania
Thanks everyone who answered and solved the problem.
Let us know when there is a new version to download, please.
Dinaroozie  [developer] Sep 29, 2012 @ 4:12am
Oh man, I loved me some Elastomania back college. I kind of suspect that that genre of game, whatever it is, is underrepresented in the modern world, but I love them - that's why I made Colour Bind! I'm not at all surprised that Elma fans would get into CB.

Anyway, I digress. Barring any major crap ups, the patch should be live in a day or so. It won't affect you much unless you're doing any Steam Workshop uploads (or watching the credits roll in Lojban), but if you are, you should maybe hold off for a bit. Glad things are working again - I hope you continue to have fun with it!
