Joystick (XBox 360 controller) doesn't work!
I have an XBox360 controller for PC, and it doesn't work ingame! It does work for the menus, but even if I'm redefining keys I'm not able to use either analog stick or the POV cross (the cross buttons at the left side).

Most of the testing that we did for controllers was done with the 360 controller, so it should be working.

1) Do any of the buttons on the controller work when you are ingame?

2)Do you have two controllers plugged in? The game maybe thinking that the other controller is first player

3) Try re plugging in the controller and restarting the computer.

Exactly the same issue. While on menu - all buttons work. In gameplay - do not. (Thought Start, Back and RS button work in-game too) and cannot redefine controls. Actually after launching coop I found out that it binds to second player no matter what (I have SINGLE controller). If it helps - Xbox 360 Controller Wireless (I think issue is somewhere there), Win 7 Pro, no other controllers connected at the time.

Hmm... I *do* have a second controller (but it was offline - it's also a wireless one).

I removed the second controller (although since it was off, it didn't appear on the game controllers control panel), I rebooted my PC, and the result is the same: You can't use any analog stick or d-pad POV hat in the menus (although most buttons seems to work), nor the left and right trigger (also analog)

In-game, the same applies. All buttons (except the POV d-pad) work, no analog control (left stick, right stick, left and right triggers) don't.

I also have a Saitek P2900 wireless controller, and it works even worse: It doesn't even work in the menus (and one of the trigger buttons seems to be working as a back button). You also allow mapping of the back button in "redefine controls", but do not honor the mapping.

Don't get me wrong: I really like the game so far. It's just that I'm using big picture mode and it is a bit frustrating to not be able to play on my TV.

Xbox "wired" controller works fine here, too. Did you test with both the wired and wireless?
It seems those having issues are using a wireless one.
Because i don't think they're the same, since Ubisoft always messes up they're games with the Wireless controller.

Hey, I'm really glad you're enjoying the game in spite of this issue! So, I've got a few other things for you to try...

1) When adjusting controls, make sure to "Save Changes" (button at bottom of options) don't just hit back/esc.

2) Try to make sure another controlller is not plugged in (so it's not confusing with a 2nd player)

3) I found xbox 360 wireless controllers to work reliably if I plugged in the USB Dongle first, then opened Colour Bind, then turned on the controller. (This sometimes causes a bit of lagg for about 15 seconds which should go away on it's own)

1) Well, the problem is even in the adjusting controls screen (no analog controls can be used at all)
2) I made sure of that above.
3) I (just) tried that (BTW, it's not exactly a dongle, it's got a *very* long wire), but there was no difference.

Perhaps you could make a very rudimentary program that uses the same input as the game, and send it to me so that you can compare what you're getting from your XBox 360 controller with what I'm getting from mine? It seems to me that a very important clue is the fact that digital buttons work, analog controls don't (even though I don't know what to make of the -seemingly digital- POV hat)

Hmm, we could try and get something like that set up and send that to you.
In the meantime though, another thing you could try is to re-install the drivers for the XBOX 360 controller

I didn't really install any drivers - I just plugged in the controller and they installed automatically. And they were very fresh; I only got the XBox 360 wireless controller a week or two.

Hi, developer here. Sorry you guys are having this issue. I'm pretty sure we've successfully used wireless XBox controllers (mazlix: I believe all the PAX demoing was done thus, right?) so I'm not 100% sure what the issue would be here - particularly, the fact that some buttons are working but not all certainly implies that it's my fault that it's broken (and not a driver issue or something). I don't have a wireless controller here right now, and unfortunately it'll be at least a couple of days before I can get one, but when I do I'll try to reproduce the issue. Sorry it's not a super fast response on this - it's tricky for me to quickly get specific hardware where I am.

That said, if anyone has got it to work fine with a wireless 360 controller, could they let me know?

Furthermore, the left analog stick is working in the menus (but not in "adjusting controls" or, of course, the game).

I'm getting this same issue, all the buttons work in game, up down left right work in menus, just dont have the joysticks in game :/, seems like the type of game I want a gamepad for too

Same issue here, wireless xbox controller, it works in the menus but not in the button config or game itself.
deezus 20 déc 2012 à 18h37
I just tested it with my wireless 360 controller and the joysticks work just fine, both in the menus and in the game, using Windows 7 x64.

I'm having the same issue. It works fine in menus but not in controller setup nor in game. I am using a wired controller.
