A game with some amazing glimpses of pure fun in the combat but It's all shadowed over by the horrendous narrating & story & plot & scripts and the game only seems to get more worse the longer you play it by having MASSIVE 20+ minute hp sponges for bosses soak up your time. Sure, you could bite through that and turn off the sound in order to avoid the narration but then there's the god awful puzzle sections which aren't really puzzles at all, just a linear series of paths to buttons you have to stand on for a few seconds before moving onto the next one. They mix this up later on with a couple of time bending mechanics but it just feels bloated in retrospect, Especially when the skill/advancement system is even more-so linear.
I also had this massive deja-vu as I was playing this game, smacking me in the face right at the start where I found out that:
1. There's a skimpy dressed babe dual-wielding swords while being trapped on an island full of monsters.
2. This skimpy dressed babe is named Ayumi and has the most sexualized clothing ever while being a blonde.
3. The skimpy dressed babe is annoying as all hell with the worst narration in history inside a hack n slash game,
Haven't I played this exact game befor- Oh wait, yes I have! That game is called X-Blade and It was released back in 2009! By the same company! Now released under a seemingly different name in a worse format with a different protagonist on the same engine! Shame on you, Gaijin.
