You can't stop it, you can only set the thrust to 0

If you thrust is stuck on it could be because you have enabled 'Thrust Lock' which is the Left Ctrl key. Please watch the Flight School video regarding its use.

Alternatively it might be a controller that is plugged into your PC. The quickest way to resolve this is to unplug any controllers or go into the Options/Controls menu and Clear column 2.

Yep that would be it, go into the controls options and clear column 2 then reassign the controls to your liking if you want to try using the joystick.
