XBOX 360 Controller not working in Lunar Flight
Windows 8 x64 with wireless receiver and the game doesn't sense any input from it. Can't map it to any controls. Reset controls to default doesn't generate any controller related presets.

I mean, yeah, my O/S is funky and I'm not expecting anything but I thought I'd drop a FYI

It's a shame because this game is so lovely and peaceful and it'd be great to not have to balance a keyslab.

same setup here, win8x64, x360wireless, and works on my end.
not much help sadly, just eliminating variables by pointing out it's not the specific combination.

had this issue once. recalibrated the gamepad and reset the controls in game. no problem since.

According to the Dev, he uses Direct Input from the Stone Ages instead of XInput.
That's why it does not work.

Does it work in other games?

I'm not sure what the differences are with Windows 8, does it still support Direct Input?

I just leave this here:

DI is deprecated and should not be used anymore sh0v0r. In all seriousness, get rid of it.
It sits on top of the Windows API and does not really provide any significant improvement over using raw messages. And you have to deal with lost devices and other crap.

Every other game works with the controller without the slightest tweak.

Also I just remembered my fondness for cheap stuff on eBay. I might be using bootlegged gear, although it happily accepts the official MS drivers.

I have 2 wireless and 2 wired controllers hooked up and none work with this game.

Are they 'Offical MS Controllers' ? What operating system are you using?

What i had to do to get the game to notice my 360 controler was to try to assing a key, and constantly hit "re-detect" as i moved the sticks and pressed buttons. after it finally noticed an axis, i backed out and hit "reset to default". it took the game about 15 tries of hitting re-detect before it finaly noticed a stick being pushed.

I too am having this issue. I'm using an official 360 controller with wireless reciever on my machine running Mac OS X Mavericks and the XBOX 360 Controller driver. My controller works fine with other games but not this one. I have two other friends with the exact same issue. I can confirm that the controller works fine on our Windows 7 machine though.

The Mac build requires the tattie bogle driver: http://tattiebogle.net/index.php/ProjectRoot/Xbox360Controller/OsxDriver

If its not being detected trying click 'Reset To Defaults' in the controls menu. Once you do this you should get a prompt asking if you are using the X360 controller.

I am having an issue with the Xbox controller. The enter key works, but the A button does not. Once I got past the calibration, I found that the left stick was working, but still no A button. Any ideas? Confirmed gamepad is still working with other games, official controller and dongle, running windows 8.1 pc.

Have you tried pressing the reset to defaults button in the options menu?

Ok so that worked. Thanks.
The problem yesterday when I tried was that all I could find was the "settings" menu. I had to disable extended mode (-adapter 1) and view the game on the main monitor. There it was, right between my eyeballs the whole time.
