That begin said the proper game shipped with a lot of bugs and being a game from a time when there was very little if any "day one patching" these were never offically fixed by Obsidian (blame LucasArts). The mod helps fix a lot of game breaking bugs and glitches. I am not sure if this is one of them that are fixed but its worth a shot if not only to get a better experience for when you play.

I see you everywhere. You get around don't you? Great work on TSLRCM by the way you guys did a masterful job of making what was incomplete to something that was not only complete but extremely satisfying. Thanks for all the hard work.
