Have you set the game to run in Windows XP compatibility (SP2 or SP3) mode?

And in the swkotor2.ini, under [Graphics Options], do you have DisableVertexBufferObjects=1 set?
I've heard that can cause immediate crashes if it's not set to DisableVertexBufferObjects=1.

If that's not it, you might experiment with turning off the Frame Buffer Effects (under [Graphics Options] change Frame Buffer=1 to Frame Buffer=0).

Have the same problem, yesterday game worked fine. Setting compatibility option to "Windows XP SP2" allowed game to launch, but with a strange bug - you can see only a green cursor on a black screen, but when you press alt+tab to switch to another window and then switch back to game, it runs normally until you press any mouse button, it makes everything except cursor disappear again.:goalsad:

I'm having the same crash on launch issue, I somehow got around it earlier today to play but now it's either crashing or when it launches I cannot see the people, only the items they hold. Dunno how this happened but I'm rather upset because I was looking forward to playing it with the new patch.

Is this just the recent update? I downloaded the game just today and was having the exact same problem. After three hours of trying anything and everything, I just gave up and asked for a refund. Should I give it another chance with the next update?

If you think it's the update that's doing it, they do have an option to use the "legacy pc" option.

I don't remember the exact procedure, but you can add a certain command on the Betas tab, which will give you the original version of the game (before Aspyr's update).

Right click on kotor II and clikc on properties on tab to the far right you'll see the pegacy pc option. I tired that, and its confimed that the update caused this.
