Graphics problem on my MacBook Pro
Hi,
I just bought the game. I'm trying to run it on a new MacBook Pro (retina display). The problem is that even on the LOWEST grphic settings I dont see the roofs of the houses & neither the icons.. I've ran pretty good graphics on this computer b4 with other games...

Specs of my MBP:
2.5Ghz i5
8GB RAM
Intel HD Graphics 4000 768MB
OS X 10.8.4

Any recommendations on what to do? Just bought the game + all DLC's and I'm quite frustrated right now :(

Intel HD is the problem.

No matter what you say, this is a chipset that isnt for gaming.

And intel HD dont meet minimal requirements for the game.

But the requirements for the game state:
"Graphics: Intel HD 3000 or higher" & I've got the 4000 modell... so Intel HD 4000 *should* work..

I was looking at windows requirements sorry.
But still minimal requirement is to run it , if you get bug, then its simply because you are at min requirement. Dont expect no bug with this

I believe the issue is with the Retina Display as I can run the game with 2500+x1080+... The MBP with Retina display is pretty powerful, but some details are missing (labels etc etc). So I stil believe it's some kind of bug..

A Intel HD chipset have already difficulty to display 3D at a decent resolution.

This is a 2D chipset, just be glad it can start,it's not a bug, it's simply not enough powerful!

In addition, when you guys read Minimal Vs. Recommended Specs, don't think that because you have the Minimal, you'll get the game to run well. Minimal is exactly as it states. MINIMAL Specs, means MINIMAL Results. I've learned this painful lesson in the 90's.

Now I only buy games the meets or exceeds the RECOMMENDED Specs.

It must be with just the retina display, I have a MBP, no retina but I have the Intel HD 3000, runs fine, no lag, high settings. Try looking for a patch.

There's no fix for no problems.

It's not a retina bug itself.

It's just the intel HD that simply CAN'T FOLLOW the demand.

the best solution would be to get a real PC because don't expect good gaming with an intel HD|!

I also have another MBP. Older with worse specs (but No retina) & it works fine there... Bad thing is that it's my work/corporate MBP so I cant use it... So, YES, it must be a Retina-Bug

Not really a "bug", just higher requirement that an Intel HD 4000 cannot support.

I bet it is your computer trying to give you one last chance to not play it. It's awful.

It sounds like a retina issue and I'm sorry but you do not know what you are talking about. The HD3000 and HD4000 are accelerated GPUs which are on the low end of the spectrum but are perfectly capable of playing many current games so long as they meet the game's stated requirements.

Mac versions of games need to take the retina display into account and support it or there can be issues.

Do you even own a Macintosh computer? No, I didn't think so.

By the way, did you bother to look at the stated system requirements for the Mac OS X version on the store page? You know, where they clearly specify "Graphics: Intel HD 3000 or higher?"

No, I didn't think so.

Intel HD are having sharing memory Intel HD is very low end.

I'm a certified Apple tech. Had no choice as i need to repair PC/MAC/various electronic hardware at the store i work at when i'm not studying Electrical engineering.

So unless you know me personally, stop making false ridiculous claim.

Also minimal requirement mean MINIMAL, just enough so you can start it, but DONT EXPECT EVERYTHING to display.

Go by the logic, and locate your specs within the suggested specs. You are at the minimum, and JUST the step between Intel HD and 8X00 suggested RIGHT AFTER intel HD is an enormous step. Now go more further the list and notice how the Intel HD is getting crushed by others.

You just get the lowest crap to START the game, just don't expect to run it fine without any visual bug.

The retina actually make your computer force even more. So it's not really a retina bug. Simply make the game asking more, hence why having the minimal IGP they suggest make it even more crappy to run the game.
