How do I free henchmen?

When my henchman got captured the game told me there would be a mission to free him, but I can't find it. Help?

The mission you are looking for is either at the job board or in the local jail.

Right... check the job board under "Special" (far right tab)

unless it is one of the very first missions where it will be a nearby warehouse to the informant "rescuing squigs"
