Fed up with this game(money back please)
This game is a total disgrace and a massive rip off and should not be allowed to be put up for sale, under the guise of a finished product. Once again I have lost every bit of progress that I had achieved and once again (as an aside to the main issue) to be able to post here, I have to collect a key from my email because they reckon I am trying to log in from a different PC. I have one PC Steam, just the F*ck*ng one, where do you keep finding these others!.
The auto save function was fixed...thank you very much Codies; but hey...I have just lost all I have done in the game, message says "save file is corrupt". Got one of those messages that say "cloud files and my PC files were not in sync' and I must choose to download the cloud files or upload my PC files...if I don't choose then I can no longer play the game...HOW AM I TO KNOW WHICH IS RIGHT OR WRONG TO LOAD EITHER WAY...turns out I picked the wrong way, I downloaded from cloud and lost everything!. It is a disgrace.
I swore I would never buy another of these F1 games from Codies, after the troubles with the first two...what happened...WHEN DID I LOSE MY COMMON SENSE? ...how many more are kicking themselves like I am.
There are bugs a plenty in this game; some we learned to live with in in 2010-ii and they are still around but what odds, but freezing and crashing to desktop in the garage, driving around under a black shadow, the in car menu not working right, if you are using a wheel (ok with a controller) all of these I can sort of shrug off , BUT LOSING ALL OF MY HARD EARNED PROGRESS FOR THE FOURTH TIME IS THE END FOR ME.
Before you ask; my PC is a high end gaming rig and runs at an average 90fps in the games benchmark, with everything on max.
I want my money back.

I've never had an issue with any of the F1 franchise games that codemasters has released. This one does have its bugs but I've never had any game breaking issues as of yet.

What do you play the game on, PC or console?.
If you play on a PC, you are a very lucky individual, on a console I gather the problems have not been as numerous. I hope your luck (because it must be luck) keeps up in the future...at the moment I am going to give the game one last try.
I have turned off Steam Cloud, as it was this, not the game, that lost me all my progress this time...and I had to pick up the key from my email and enter it again before I could use the forums to post wtf.

Know how you feel about losing it all. Same here a couple of days ago in exactly the same situation. Not so bad for me as I am new and didn't mind running through it all a 2nd time but I know how you must have felt.
There must be a file somewhere in the Steam folder which you can protect yourself when you have a history worth saving.
I've had a different computer just about each time I log in !!!

Turn off cloud and autosave and you wont have anymore savegame trouble.

If there is a problem with using this forum/posts give steam a buz and they will help you fix it. to me it sounds like maybe an anti-virus setting for web browsing that might be clearing everything each time you leave the site or finish using explorer/chrome. the bugs you have detailed (not autosave) sound like nasty ones and im sure if you have an up-to-date newish PC with high spec's then theres nothn that cant be fixed. orbit system care do a great program for cleaning out your PC and speeding it up, plus it works. Drivers: Motherboard, Audio, Graphics card, windows, dx, and what ever else you have i cant tell without knowing your system. also the right setting up of these will all need attention. If more than 5-10% of the millions you bought this game could not play it Codemasters would have real trouble and the news would be everywere. most people play without problems, (like myself) contact codemasters, make posts on THERE forums were they will see it not here, steam cant help with the game. past F1 games did have bugs, this one is by far a LOT better and it works other wise it would not be on shelfs sell like hot cakes and getting great reviews. I think some forum reading and contacting the right support groups will have you sorted..

I have already turned off cloud, see above and auto save is now fixed, so no need to turn it off, but thanks for the input.

Hi, thanks for your input about my rant; I was not actually asking for advise, I was just letting off steam (no pun intended). It is nothing to do with my security software I can assure you of that. I tried OSC in the past and it is ok of sorts. I understand my PC well enough to run it efficiently and how to keep it cleared out of unwanted clutter and how to set up my security programs. I am no computer whizz, but I built My PC myself from the case up and know it well. The problems we PC guys are getting, are not on the whole, to do with our rigs or software. The auto save was a broken bit of coding; which they have now fixed and to be fare to Codies, the 3 or 4 patches they have put out have fixed a lot of stuff....this is not all that usual for them; they must have been listening to us!
Steam on the other hand are messing people about, with cloud in particular being the main cause for loss of progress on the PC.
About the buying public and complaints...most buyers of these Codie F1 games are on consoles and you are probably right about the overall percentage that are not happy. The very much smaller percent that are using a PC to play, I would venture to say, at least 50% are not happy
at all...well I'm not for sure. I can play GPLegends, on or off line, without a hitch...it is 13 years old...gotta be a message there mate.

is ther annyway u can locate the save in steam folder on pc?
Sir First to Die 6 de Oct, 2012 a las 3:46
Steam keeps giving you a login code because you are probably deleting cookies with something like ccleaner, try seeing if there is an option to not delete certain cookies with whatever cleaning program your using.

F12012 Savegame location.... steam/userdata/randomnumber/208500.

208500 is Steams ID number for this game.

If you want to know any steam programs ID, just create a shortcut to it. Then right click and check properties of shortcut, and there will be a number at the end of the URL line. Thats the games ID.

Also the savegame location above is like that on my pc because i have cloud storage enabled, it may be different on a PC without cloud storage enabled.
