Just another arcade racer with F1 cars...
Disappointed with F1 2012, I was hoping for a light hearted sim racer but this game just feels like a pure console port. Like Need for Speed with F1 cars. The graphics on the highest setting look bland and washed out, the cars look good but the tracks look very featureless. Also annoyed by the console menu system which is a chore to navigate, the way the game holds your hand, like taking control leaving the pit, slowing you down if you run wide ect. Sluggish controls and bad force feedback do not help. There is also a very poor sense of speed, 250kph feel like 80.. Playing the F1 car in iRacing and 250kph feels truly scary.

I've invested less than a hour in it and I'm bored, its too easy, too simplistic and just boring. Glad I bought it at the sale price.
3/10

You obviously didn't change any of the difficulty settings and hardly gave the game a chance. As a fan of iRacing myself, anyone who "invests" less than an hour in that visually ugly and initially awkward game would *hate* it. You should know that.

Turn off ALL the assistance in F12012 and put the AI on Legend, and I'm hard pressed to find another formula 1 racer that's as difficult as this; and has such a rewarding single player "championship" mode.

You can't blame the game for being easy because you had it on the default care bear mode they put in since casual players complained about F1 2011 being too difficult.

Menu system sucks, and this game has its flaws, but I consider it one of the best all around F1 sims to date. The online mode is a damned ghost town on PC, but playing it on Xbox/PS3 it's extremely competitive. Oh well.

Funny how i was introduced to this game through the PS3 demo but felt the graphics were not up to par so i chose to buy it on PC, big difference but it's understandable for an ageing console.

I've never played any sims really in the past but turning all assists off with a wheel does not feel overly hard just more judging breaking and driving lines for best times is the hardest part, i very rarely spin and to be honest it should be a little easier to lose control.

By no means am i a great driver still learning the track layouts but i would expect medium difficulty for most people here is way too easy, tough enough for me as i'm a new gamer but i'm driving with all assists off and seem to be doing ok in time trial.

Did not expect my 5850 that is a few years old to be able to play in ultra settings at 1080p with decent frame rates.

The game definitely has flaws but it's not as bad as you make it out to be. A lot of the things you listed are easily changed in the settings.

Game itself isn't bad at all yeah it's different fom what we used to physicswise but with F1 level high DF the car should perform differently to those cars with lesser DF and undeersteer at slow speed is one of it, but what prevent me from playing this game is FFB, I just don't like it it's just too flat and bland, wheel feels always heavy as if centre spring is on and no road surface can be felt through wheel because it always feels smooth like driving on mirror surface. I played F1 2010 for 677hours, 2011 probabaly around the same, but I only played this game for 33hours so far and I already feel I had enough.

You did turn on force feedback, correct? It's off by default. It's also adjustable. The FFB in this game is stronger than most Codemaster's games.

I agree steering does feel bland always heavy and not responsive enough, the game itself is not that bad though, using a G27.
