Fraps conflict with Steam Overlay?
The game freezes when I have Fraps running and bring up the Steam Overlay. Ideally I'd like to use both at the same time, and no alternative video recorder works for me. The Fraps/Overlay issue is fairly recent. I've updated my Fraps and the problem still exists.

As I couldn't record my recent races, I edited other peoples instead. Here's one I spent awhile editing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4nz5XMGNxE

I had the same issues, but ditched fraps for MSI Afterburner... IMO its better, plus its free. I also feel that the system resource overhead is much lower and you can record at a highter quality.

MSI was choppy playback and didn't record audio for me, so I updated it but it would just crash the game every time I hit the record button. I don't think that's a common problem, as I haven't seen it on any forum.

Been there - done that! Its all a matter of capture settings in afterburner- let me check to see what i had to do in order to enable sound recording- now during league races i record not only game sounds, but the comvos between drivers on mumble... quite funny.

I'll try reinstall MSI to stop the crashing, but what were those settings for audio? Thanks.

In the video capture section, i have it set to auto- the other settings caused me to lose the audio when recording. the only game that (for some reason) it wont work with is NASCAR Racing 2003... but im thinking its because its such an old title.
