How to fix freezing/crashing in Assassin's Creed 3

I had major crash problems at the same point every time, when first landing in Boston. I started a new game and it crashed again at the same point. VERY ANNOYING!!!!

Found a solution
In Steam menu I used the option to verify the game was downloaded correctly and it replaced some files. I also when to my steam directory and found my AC3 files under " common files" Here you will find two executable icons for the single and multiplayer. Right click on each icon and run both icons as administrator . Set your graphics card (Nvidia in my case) to default. Finally type %temp% into the search box on your start menu to bring up the temporary files, and you must then delete these files. That's how I fixed the annoying crashes. Good luck my friend!

Sorry for raising this six-year-old thread from the dead (like Lazarus himself) but I was wondering why I couldn't download this game in the first place. Whenever the download starts it instantly bluescreens the pc. Have you encountered this problem before?
