I think this game isn't worth the money, and especially not if you have some or all the other dooms. If you have Doom 3 and Doom 3: ROE (or if you want to buy them) you can get Sikkmod which makes the game look WAAYY better then Doom 3: BFG Edition. I hadn't been using Sikkmod before and can't believe how much better it looks then the BFG Edition. Also if you don't think you can use widescreen resolutions with Doom 3, just edit the Sikkmod cfg file. Change these to whatever resolution your monitor supports or you want to use. These are the ones I use on my computer (seta r_customHeight "1080" seta r_customWidth "1920" seta r_mode "-1"). There is also no mod support for Doom 3: BFG Edition.
If you have The Ultimate Doom and Doom 2 (or if you want to buy them) you can use zDoom which once again looks much better then both The Ultimate Doom and Doom 2 on the BFG Edition (which are in their original state and no improvements were made). ZDoom also has gameplay improvements, widescreen support, mod support, opengl support, and tons of other features. Also you can buy Final Doom which isn't included in the BFG Edition.
You can buy all the classic dooms, Doom 3, and Doom 3: ROE for 25$, or you can buy the Doom 3: BFG Edition for 20$. If you're thinking of buying this game I would recommend getting the originals, even though their 5$ more, and definitely stick to the originals if you have them. The only reason to get Doom 3: BFG Edition is if you want mounted flashlights, periodic saves, achievements, if you have a vr headset, and one new Doom 3 Episode and one new classic Doom episode. In my opinion the pros out weigh the cons in buying/owning the originals over getting this.
